AppLoader is a software utility that enables field technicians to restore the original factory settings to a controller.

1 Make sure that the USB Link cable driver is installed.

2 Connect the computer to the controller with the USB Link.

3 Insert the i-Vu® Tech Tools DVD or USB drive into your computer.

4 On your computer, click AppLoader under Other Installs.

NOTE If the screen does not automatically appear after inserting the DVD or USB drive, navigate to I-Vu Tech Tools on your computer and double-click the Apploader folder. Double-click AppLoader_x.x_windows_setup.exe to start the installation.

5 Follow the Setup Wizard and wait for it to finish.

6 In the folders, double-click utilities and open the Clippings folder.

7 Copy the clipping files to a folder on your computer.

NOTE Clipping files contain the controller’s factory image, which may include a driver, control program, graphics, and screen files.

From your desktop, click Start > All Programs > AppLoader x.x and then click , or browse to your program location.

1 For an Rnet connection, select Options and check Preserve Parameters.

2 Select Connection and check Rnet.

3 Select Access Port and check the COM port for the USB Link.

To find the correct port:

1. From Start or explore, on your computer, right-click Computer and select Manage.

2. Select Device Manager in the tree on the left.

3. Click the arrow next to Ports (COM & LPT1).

4. Your port is listed next to Silicon Labs USB to UART Bridge.

4 In AppLoader, select Baud Rate and check 115200.

5 Select File > Open, browse to the Clipping folder you saved earlier.

6 Select the Clipping file for the controller that you wish to download and then click Open.

7 Click Build. Wait for the message that the build is complete.

8 Click Modstat to verify successful communication. Check your connection if there are problems.

9 If communicating properly, click Download Memory. Wait for the message Download Successful.

NOTE Downloads can take up to 10 minutes, depending on the controller.

You can change the IP settings of a router in AppLoader, similar to using Hyperterminal. PREREQUISITES

• Use only for the i-Vu® Open Router, i-Vu® Open Link, Carrier® ChillerVu™, or i-Vu® Integrator. You cannot use the i-Vu® CCN Router or i-Vu® Link.

• Make sure DIP switch 1 is in the up position.

NOTE You must cycle power on a router when a DIP switch setting is changed.

1 In AppLoader, select IP Config and verify these settings:

• Connection Type - check Rnet

• Rnet

○ Access Port - select the COM port used for the USB Link. See step 3 in Downloading memory (page 2) if you are unsure which COM port to select.

○ Baud Rate - Select the correct rate, typically 115,200.

1 Click Connect and a dialog shows the Current IP addresses and New address fields that you can change.

2 Enter your IP changes and click Apply.

CAUTION Changing the BACnet Port (BACnet/IP) from the default of 47808 can cause communication problems. If there is a site-specific reason why you must change this default number, contact Carrier Controls Support for assistance.
