    Second Presentation Proposal

Facet: Present Perfect and the reduction of have/has

Objective: to teach the pronunciation of reduction of have/has (ve/ s) and the present perfect verb

    tense

Target audience: High Intermediate ages 18-40 with about 10-15 students in attendance

Theme: For the love of games: Sports and Exercise

Presentation: I will teach the grammar point of the present perfect verb tense by starting with how to

form both statements and questions (yes/no and information questions) in the present perfect.

Statement Form: subject + have/has + past participle.

    Yes/No ?s form: Have/Has + subject + past participle?

Information ?s form: Information question word + have/has + subject + past participle?

After giving these forms, I would first give example sentences using the present perfect and the uses of

the present perfect. Second, I would discuss the past participle forms referring them to the verb

worksheet. I would then explain the pronunciation of the reduction of have/has (ve/ s).

A ctivity: There will be a review of the sports and exercise vocabulary recycling the cards made and used

in the Guesstures activity. New vocabulary will be added and discussed to include the past participles

of the irregular verbs as well. The teacher will need to make cards for these words to use in the board

game activity. The teacher will also need to bring a few copies of the board game, a dice for each group

and little markers for each student. I use small animal figurines.
