Last month Steve Kindsfather opened the competition meeting in the absence of Brandi Stebritz. First on the agenda was a discussion on the upcoming field trips, for the Leadville Wildflower Train Trip and Littleton History Museum. It was announced that Mike Stebritz is taking over the duties as the website manager. Dan Schmitt was our judge this month. He was a member of the club years ago and also served as one of our past presidents. He gave us a brief history of the club and also talked about the light box that we use for displaying our prints. Dan gave excellent and very in depth of critique of our images. I know myself that I learn a lot, from the advice that he gave to us about our images. Like to thank Richard Hatz for serving the snacks this month. Also remember to keep your sizes of your digital entries, to 1024 on the width and 768 on the height. PAGE 1 OF 5

Events happenings at DPSTheir will be no meeting on August 4. August 11 will be our competition night, the subject is open this month and be sure to bring your slides. August 13th we have a field trip to Hotchkiss, Colorado, to photography the Mesa Winds Farms.August 21st we have a day trip to Brainerd lake area.

Here are a few more jokes that Dee sent:

St Peter and Lucifer were at the gates admiring the clouds when the subject got onto photography. They couldn’t agree whether Heaven or Hell had the best photographers so they decided to arrange a photo contest.St Peter rubbed his hands with glee and Lucifer demanded to know why he was looking so smug.“Well,” said St Peter, “in Heaven we have all the best photographers”Lucifer slowly raised his head, grinned and replied “Ah, but we have all the judges…”

Top ten reasons to date a photographer:They work well in the darkThey’re used to funny smellsThey make things developThey work well on many settingsThey know how to focusThey can make big things look small and small things look bigThey work well from many different anglesThey zoom in and out. And in and out and in and out and in and out…They shoot in many different locationsThey can find the beauty in anything
