Apple launches the Os x Yosemite

1
Recently at their WWDC Conference, Apple introduced both the iOS 8 as well as the OS X Yosemite. It came as no surprise that the iOS 8 hogged all the limelight while its distant cousin, the OS X Yosemite took the backstage. Nevertheless, OS X Yosemite packs some very serious punch and is on par in regards to the innovations made in iOS 8. Apple will officially rollout the OS X Yosemite somewhere in September this year, but it is sure to be worth the wait and spend. In case you haven’t heard, we bring to you the top six best features of the OS X Yosemite: 1. Smart and Neat Icons: Yosemite has clean and clear icons at the bottom of the screen. It includes applications that value functionalities over prettiness. "That is a gorgeous trash can," Federighi said. "You wouldn't believe how much time we spent crafting a trash can." 2. Large Interface Interaction Area: A ‘Spotlight’ search bar appears at the middle of the screen when the magnifying glass icon (located at the top right corner) is clicked. 3. Smarter & Intuitive Search Bar: The search bar is smart and intuitive. It auto-completes search terms with applications, news, images, audio and even maps. 4. Expanded ‘AirDrop’: The ‘AirDrop’ feature can now move documents and other items back and forth between iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite. The handoff allows users to transfer seamlessly from working on one device to working on another. 5. Easily Transferrable Non-iPhone Messages: In earlier OS’s, text messages sent from other phones did not show up on Mac’s. Whereas OS X Yosemite streamlines all messages onto a user's computer. 6. Phone Call Functionality: Phone calls can now be made & received via Mac. Federighi demonstrated this feature by calling the rapper Dr. Dre, whose company ‘BEATS’ was recently purchased by Apple. Although "free" is never a distinctive quality of Apple, it's certainly a nice perk — the upgrade to Yosemite has been declared just that ‘free’ when it is finally rolled out.
