WHAT IS APPLY WITH LINKEDIN (With Apply Starters)

Apply with LinkedIn (With Apply Starters) is an integration available to clients on their career site, enabling candidates to apply for jobs using their LinkedIn profiles. On average up to 75% of candidates may drop off during the application workflow when applying for an open job. Clients using Apply with LinkedIn have a 26% higher Application Workflow conversion rate than those who do not.

At the end of 2018, LinkedIn will be sun-setting their current version of Apply with LinkedIn. Both the current version and the new version will be available for use concurrently, until the current version is retired.

The new version, Apply with LinkedIn (With Apply Starters) is available to clients who have a Recruiter contract with LinkedIn or a company account with active LinkedIn job slots.

Mobile-Friendly Application WorkflowsApply with LinkedIn (With Apply Starters) is only supported on the Mobile-Friendly Application Workflow. The original version of Apply with LinkedIn may still be used for the Standard Application Workflow until its retirement at the end of 2018. Clients with both versions enabled will see the current version applied to requisitions using Standard Application Workflows and the With Apply Starters version applied to Mobile-Friendly Application Workflows.

AvailabilityPer LinkedIn’s redesign of the Apply with LinkedIn (With Apply Starters), only clients with LinkedIn Recruiter, or an active job listing with LinkedIn can leverage the new Integration.

Account CreationIn the current version of Apply with LinkedIn (With Apply Starters), when an applicant uploads their resume via the integration, they will simultaneously create an account with their LinkedIn credentials. When this applicant returned, unbeknownst to them, they would have to login through LinkedIn, causing applicant confusion.

Apply with LinkedIn (With Apply Starters) removes this automatic account creation, instead an option to “Create a Profile” will appear on the Thank You page of the workflow.

GETTING STARTED

ENABLEMENT

Admin > Tools > Edge > Marketplace

Apply with LinkedIn (With Apply Starters) can be enabled in the Edge Marketplace. Until the current Apply with LinkedIn is deprecated by LinkedIn, we will offer two separate tiles.

There is no additional cost from Cornerstone to enable the integration, however, LinkedIn will require a contract with your organization.

After selecting the integration from the Edge Marketplace, click on Configure Now to be directed to the Setup.

If your User account is not already connected to your LinkedIn account, you will be presented with the option to Sign In.

Once signed in, you will have the option to choose from the Contracts associated with your account.

Following selection of the contract, select Request for the Apply with LinkedIn integration.

Click the switch to green, finalizing the enablement.

ADMINISTRATION

No additional permissions are activated or required when activating and implementing the Apply with LinkedIn (With Apply Starters) functionality.

Configuring for External Applicants

After the Edge Integration has been enabled and configured properly, each individual Career Site (Admin > Tools > Recruit > Career Sites) will need to have the Allow Apply with LinkedIn checkbox selected. This checkbox determines if the Apply with LinkedIn option appears for applicants applying to requisitions accessed from those career sites.

Configuring for Internal Applicants

To ensure that your internal users are able to use the Apply with LinkedIn functionality, when applying through the Career Center, enable the Allow Internal to apply with LinkedIn (from Career Center) checkbox in the Recruiting General Preferences (Admin > Tools > Recruit > General Preferences). This preference can be configured by OU, so that any OU not approved to use this functionality can be excluded.

APPLICANT EXPERIENCE

When a candidate applies to a requisition that uses the Mobile-Friendly Application Workflow, they are provided the option to Apply with LinkedIn from the Job Details page. If the candidate continues forward without using Apply with LinkedIn, they will have another opportunity to access the integration on the first page of the workflow.

If the user has an active LinkedIn cookie, from a recent log in to their LinkedIn account, their resume will be automatically populated once they have selected the Apply with LinkedIn button.

If an applicant does not have an active LinkedIn cookie, they will have to click the LinkedIn button twice. The first click will open a new window prompting the applicant to enter their LinkedIn credentials. The secend click will populate their resume information.

Once the applicant has finished the application workflow, and reached the Thank You page, they are prompted to create a Cornerstone account.

CHECK-INS HOME PAGE CUSTOMIZATIONRecruiters will now be able to add and move candidates who applied with LinkedIn to different requisitions in the same way they would for any other candidate. Prior to this enhancement, candidates who had applied using LinkedIn could not be moved or added to other jobs.
