developing and deploying web applications with Oracle Application
Express even easier.
Improved Create Application Wizard
The Create an Application from Scratch Wizard has been completely redesigned.
By stepping through this new wizard, developers can select forms, reports or simply
bank pages to be added to an application. Once your selections have been made, the
application can be generated with a single click.

Available in both the Application Builder and SQL Workshop, the new Graphical

Improved SQL Script Support
SQL Scripts can now use standard SQL*Plus syntax in Oracle Application Express
Release 2.0. Also, any script can be run as a background process, freeing the
developer to continue working while their script executes.
Session State Protection
A new feature – Session State Protection – has been introduced into Oracle
Application Express Release 2.0. Session State Protection protects an Oracle
Application Express Application from users who try to pass malicious code through
a browser.
SQL Command Processor Stateful Transactions
Developer can now choose whether or not to automatically commit transactions
issued in the SQL Command Processor. Any uncommitted transaction will
automatically be rolled back should the browser be closed or a logout occur.
Dynamic “ Pull Down” Menu Navigation
Navigation has been enhanced through the use of new pull-down menus. These
menus allow developers to quickly navigate to the specific page they require. In
addition to enhancing Oracle Application Express, these menu templates are also
available for use in the Application Builder.
Efficient HTML & Style Sheets
The amount of HTML generated by Oracle Application Express 2.0 has been greatly
reduced in size, resulting in much faster loading and web page rendering times.
