description
Adi Shankaracharya, (788-820), wrote several short, simple treatises, prakarana grantha, to explain the Advaita Vedanta philosophy. This Aparokshanubhuti, literally 'the perception of what is invisible', is one of his best known and most comprehensive. Shankara discusses the identity of the individual Self and the universal Self through the direct experience of the highest truth.
