Essential Information

If you are using ourservice forthe first time or have not recently read the Stradbroke School OSHCInformation Guide, please ensure you obtain a copy (updated Feb 2021).

If you have not completed a purple enrolment form or your details have recently changed, youwillneed to update your enrolmentform prior to the commencementof Vacation Care.

BOOKINGS AND PAYMENT CONDITIONSOncethe programisfull, children will be placed ona waiting list. Waiting lists will be managedaccording to the suggested governmentguidelines for priority of access.

Bookingswill only be accepted once the booking form has beenreceived with appropriateconsents signed andthe deposit paid. Booking forms can be handedin at the Kids’ Zone desk orscanned and emailed to us.

Our Vacation Care booking deadline is two weeksbefore the end of term, whichis Friday 26tMarch 2021for this Vacation Care period.

Casual workers are encouraged to bookany care they may need before the booking deadline andcancel any care not required by 6:15pm of the weekprior to avoid charges.

If a child is bookedafter the booking deadline, a Late Booking Fee of $5.00 per child applies.If a child arrives without being booked in, a No Booking Fee of $10.00 applies (if a place isavailable).If a child is picked up after 6:15pm,a Late Pick-Up Feewill be chargedat $15.00 perfamily forevery 15 minutes orpart thereof.

CANCELLATIONSAll cancellations must be madein writing before 6:15pm the Friday prior to the weekof care toavoid charges.

EXCURSIONSAll children mustbe at the centre at the times outlined on the programin orderfor us to conductnecessary safety checks and counts,for them to hearthe safety talk to understand rules andresponsibilities, collect their wrist bands and ensurethat they haveall the necessary equipmentfor a safe and enjoyable excursion. If your child/ren arrive after the outlined times, they will beunable to join the excursion for safety reasons andyouwill still be accountable for the fees for thatday.

Whenweareoffering a choice of two different excursions on the same day please ensurethat yourchildren discuss with you andtheir friendship group which onetheywill be attending. Dueto staffto child ratios and venue bookings weare unable to allow them to swapat a later date. In the caseof younger/older excursions, please be aware that it may be necessaryfor staff to swap childrenfrom one group to the other due to numbercaps.If this occurs, you will be notified before theexcursion date.

Please note spending moneyis not permitted.

Some excursions may need to be cancelled due to the heat or wet weather. If this happens, adecision will be made by 6:15pm the day before (whenpossible).

Excursionsare transported by Ezyway Minibus, Access Cabs & Kanga Coachlines.

Risk assessments have been conductedforall venues. Information is available upon request.

SIGNING IN & OUTIt is a legal requirementthat your child/ren are escorted into Kids’ Zone, signedin electronically onthe iPad uponarrival and signed out upon departure by their parent / caregiver. This must be donefor safety reasons and subsidy purposes. Please also make sureto let a staff member know whenyou have droppedoff or are picking up yourchild/ren as per our centrepolicy. If you are sendingsomeoneelse to collect your child/ren please make sure you inform Kids’ Zonestaff about thearrangements. Please notethatif your child/ren is being collected by somebodythat you haveallocated as a collection authority and they have not collected your child/ren before or have onlycollected them a few times,it is a requirementthat they bring photo identification so that we canensurethis is the person you haveallocated.

FOOD & DRINKPlease ensure you have provided yourchildren with a nutritious recess and lunch every day.Please be aware weare unable to heat up food.Please putanice packin yourchild’s lunchbox if needed as weare unable to store lunchboxesinthe fridge.

Weencourageyou to reduce wasteby providing food in containers rather than packaging.Breakfastis provided between 7:15am —- 8:15am.Afternoontea will be provided at approximately 3:00pm —- 4:00pm, howeverourroutineis flexiblebased on the children’s needs.

SPECIAL MEALS PROVIDEDBY KIDS’ ZONEWednesday14th April we will be providing a ‘Special Russian Lunch’that includes beef stroganoffandrice, pirozhki and morozhenoe.Friday 234 of April we will be providing a ‘Special Pizza Lunch’ whichincludes pizza fromDomino’s,garlic bread andjuice boxes.Pleaselet a qualified Educator knowif your child/ren will be bringing their own lunch on any ofthese days.

LUNCH ORDERSLunchescan be ordered from Forest Avenue Deli on home daysonly (please see attached menu).Pleasefill in an order form located at the sign in/out desk. Order forms mustbe givento a Kids’Zone Educatorwith the correct cash payment before 10:00am.

SUN SAFE POLICY - “SLIP, SLOP, SLAP, SEEK & SLIDE!”When UVlevels reach 3 and above,sun protection is required in order to play outside and attendexcursions as per the centre policy. This includes an approved hat, sunscreen and sunsafeclothing including t-shirts coveringshoulders.Approvedhats include legionnaire, broad brimmed and buckethats (no caps).Hats can be keptin children’s bagsorin an individually labelled plastic bag in the Kids’ Zone hatrack.

Children must wear sunscreen throughout the day whenrequired.If your child/ren has asunscreenallergy please discuss sun safe strategies with us or provide an appropriate sunscreenfor them to use.

WHEELS DAYOn ‘Wheels Day’ children are able to bring bikes or scooters from home.A helmet is the minimum safety equipment required, however knee/wrist/elbow padsetc. are alsostrongly encouraged. Children are not permitted to use each other’s equipment unless they arefrom the samefamily.

Educatorto Child Ratios for Home & Excursion DaysWe expectto have a maximum of 160 children and a minimum 1:8 educatorto child ratio on excursions.

Water excursions(if included) will have a minimum 1:8 educatorto child ratio based on arisk assessment.Swimming excursions(if included) will have a minimum 1:5 educatorto child ratio.

Educatorto Child Ratios for Home & Excursion DaysWe expectto have a maximumof 160 children and a minimum 1:8 educatorto child ratio on excursions.

Water excursions(if included) will have a minimum 1:8 educator to child ratio based on a risk assessment.Swimming excursions(if included) will have a minimum 1:5 educatorto child ratio.

Weexpectto have 90-130 children and a minimum 1:15 educatorto child ratio on home days.Increasedratios of 1:10 will be implemented when preschoolchildren are attending.
