Marios Koskinasis a highly motivated tanker chartering and sale and purchase broker. He has graduated from Business school of the University of Connecticut, USA. He has international shipping experience as shipbroker and fleet chartering manager in United States, Singapore and Greece. He has worked for major international ship brokerages such as Eastport Maritime (Singapore and USA), Odin Marine USA, as well as Chartering Manager for Western Shipping Singapore overlooking a fleet of 12 modern product and chemical tankers ranging from 47,000 dwt up to 112,000. He has extensive knowledge in specialty tankers and products such as palm oil, vegetable oil, chemicals, and petroleum products. Marios Koskinas is the founder of Seaside Tankers, established in 2002, which recently entered into a joint venture in 2013 with Doric Shipbrokers, Greece. Holds chartering certificates since 1999 from Association of Shipbrokers and Agents, USA(ASBA) and Singapore Shipping Association.

John Pachoulisstudied Maritime Shipping in Greece and Shipping Trade in United Kingdom at London School of Foreign Trade. He specializes in the areas of ship management and shipbroking. Mr. John Pachoulis is the CEO at MEGACHART INC and he was the President of Hellenic Shipbrokers Association (Maritime Association of Realtors Agents) from 2005 to 2013. Since 1998, he is the Head of Committee Charters. He is also a Key Principal Lecturer at Greek Association of Shipbrokers and Hamburg School of Business Administration for MBA degrees in Shipping. Mr. Pachoulis has given many lectures in the Shipping Department at University of Piraeus and other shipping colleges. Today he writes articles regarding freight market for Naftika Chronika, Naftemporiki and other reputable shipping magazines and newspapers. He also participated as a Lecturer for greek and international shipping conferences and meetings. Mr. John Pachoulis is a member of Marine Club of Piraeus since 1984. Furthermore he is a member of the judging panel for the LLOYD'S LIST GREEK SHIPPING AWARDS, and he was awarded on behalf of H.S.A by LLOYD'S LIST for the services that he provided and the efforts on educational matters. Finally, he is a regular member of the Piraeus Association for Maritime Arbitration (Marine Referee).

Rear Admiral H.N (Ret) Antonios Papaioannou graduated from the Hellenic Naval Academy in 1975. As an officer, for the next 35 years, he served on board various warships, he commanded frigate as well as he commanded a frigates’ squadron but also he served in various posts abroad, such as Naval Attaché in London and staff officer in Western European Union in Brussels. In 2009, he was assigned for four months as the first Force Commander of European Union Naval Force in Gulf of Aden, by setting up the European antipiracy operation ATALANTA, which is an ongoing operation. After his resign in 2010, he founded the Diaplous Maritime Security, which is a leading company providing armed services in the antipiracy field.

George Kiourktsoglou has a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (Aristotelian Technical University, Greece, 1992), an M.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering (Cornell University, U.S.A., 1996), a Diploma in Management (ALBA Graduate Business School, Greece, 2006) and an M.B.A. in Shipping (ALBA Graduate Business School, Greece, 2008). As an intern, he worked for the Israeli Public Corporation of Electricity and from 1996 until 2009 for Royal Dutch Shell. Currently he does research as a Ph.D. candidate (Maritime Security) and lectures (Strategy and Management) at the University of Greenwich. George is a member of the American Nuclear Society, the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science Technology in London. He speaks Greek, English, German, Japanese and French.

David Granvillejoined Etihad Airways in November 2007, bringing 30 years of airline expertise to the Abu Dhabi-based Αirline. David joined as General Manager Sudan, after heading up Kenya Airways’ UK operations and previous senior roles across Africa with British Airways.Now based with Etihad’s Global Accounts Sales team in the UK, he is responsible both for global products in the marine, missionary and student markets and multi-national accounts which drive much of their growth. He aims to make Etihad Airways not necessarily the biggest but the best and most relevant to the needs of the marine and offshore markets.A British national, David has always worked in aviation related industries of customer loyalty, rail integration and management consultancy. He remains passionate about leveraging increased value from consumer loyalty.

Theodore Chouliaras holds an Msc in Finance and Banking from Leicester University (UK). From March of 2011 he is the B.O.D. President of the Institute of Maritime & Economic Studies, (www.Instimarec.org) while from 2009 he was appointed as the B.O.D. President of the Shipping Finance Consultants UPMARITIME LONDON Ltd. (www.UpmaritimeLondon.co.uk) Economist, with Long time Experience in the banking and stock market sector, he structured many shipping & corporate finance deals.

Dr. Kevin McSweeneyis responsible for the Safety and Human Factors Engineering Group within ABS’ Corporate Technology Department. His current responsibilities include providing the maritime industry with guidance on mariner/personnel safety, corporate safety culture, crew habitability and the development of general Human Factors Engineering (HFE) design guidance for ships and offshore installations. Kevin’s recent past experience includes:

• Service as a subject matter expert to the US Navy and US Coast Guard regarding Human Systems Integration (HSI), system safety, and crew habitability. • Service with the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health’s (NIOSH) Ergonomics Intervention Review Panel for the Maritime Industry.• Service with the US Marine Advisory Council for Occupational Safety and Health (MACOSH) committee to reduce injury/illnesses during vessel construction.• Service with the US Transportation Research Board of the NTSB – Human Factors.• Prior to joining ABS Kevin was responsible for the development and implementation of the Human Systems Integration and System Safety programs for the US Navy. • He has published more than forty (40) technical papers/articles. • He has more than twenty-five (25) years as a safety engineering and human factors professional.• He received his PhD from Texas A&M University’s College of Engineering with emphasis in safety engineering, human factors, and occupational biomechanics.

Dr. M. Papaioannou - DNV GL, Maritime Academy Hellas graduated from the University of Patras, Department of Geology and received a PhD in Geophysics in 2002. She participated in various scientific projects related to archaeological geophysics, which was also the specific topic of her Thesis titled “The application of geophysics in the investigation of underground structures in urban environment”. She worked as a free-launch geologist/geophysicist until 2000, undertaking a major part of the geophysical investigations for the construction of the Metro of Athens, participating in various NATO SFS Programs, as well as numerous archaeological /geophysical projects and civil construction works. In 2000, she started her career in the maritime business with her employment at the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association – HELMEPA. Within her duties was to follow the works of the Committees for the Protection of the Marine Environment (MEPC) and Maritime Safety (MSC) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London, translation and simplification of laws and regulations relevant to the protection of the marine environment and oil pollution prevention and response and teaching at seminars with relevant subjects. In 2008 she started her employment with Germanischer Lloyd Academy and she has been GL Academy Area Manager for Southern Europe, responsible for the training activities of GL for Greece, Italy, Cyprus, Turkey, Spain, and Portugal. Since 1st January 2014, she is managing the training business under the new merged organization – DNV GL’s Maritime Academy Hellas. She is also a qualified ISO Auditor. She has a significant presence in national and international Conferences/Symposiums as a speaker, with numerous publications.
