There is plenty of reason for confidence these day. That’snot the message we hear on the news every morning, butit’s true. Yes, the economy is in a slump, unemployment isup, and unrest in the Middle East continues. But thesethings are nothing new. The world has always experiencedsome kind of turmoil, and that hasn’t stopped God fromblessing His people and giving usreason to trust Him.
Many Christians profess belief inGod and in His promises yet focusmore on the continuous barrage ofnegative information that confrontsthem each day through televisionand the Internet. Their lives areovershadowed by feelings of doubt, worry, and most of all, fear over what the future may hold.
If ever there was a time for believ-ers to worry, it would have beenwhen Christ was crucified. Onseveral occasions, Jesus assuredHis disciples that he was doingGod’s perfect will - even whenthings seemed unbearably bleak. He promised them their griefwould turn to joy (John 16:20).

But their faith faltered.
After Jesus’ death, the terrified disciples, certainthey would meet the same fate as their Lord (John20:19), went into hiding. Fear gripped their hearts, and their minds raced to make sense of all that hadhappened. They forgot Christ’s words: “Peace Ileave with you; My peace I give to you; not as theworld gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart betroubled, nor let it be fearful” (John 14:27-28).
Some events in life seem to cause more pain than wecan bear. For the disciples, the crucifixion was suchan occasion. Instead of believing that Jesus would never leave them, the discipleswere convinced He was gone forever. And with Him went their hopes for the future. But they were wrong; three days later the risen Savior stepped into their presenceand proclaimed, “Peace be with you!” (John 20:19).
He is always at work—engineering the circumstances of your life to bring good fromeven the deepest loss. Whatever your situation, God is aware of it. And He has aplan in mind especially for you, just as He had a plan for the resurrection. Yes,there is a reason to hope in Him!
Rejoice He is Risen!

A PRI LPage 7
We live in a large community. We pass thou-sands of people every week as we travel to workand run errands. We sit in worship with hundreds
of people whose names and lives we do notknow. Sometimes it is really hard to get to know
anyone...
SO COME TO DINNER! | Groups are starting now!
You're invited to join a small group of people for an evening of food and con-versation. Groups of 8 people meet once a month for 4 months. At the end of 4months, we rotate into new groups. You and your dinner partners will deter-mine when and where to meet--homes, restaurants, a park, etc. You may chooseto cook, order in, eat out, or have a potluck. The whole purpose is to get toknow others in churchand share life. Comejoin in for a wonderfultime of fellowship andfood!
