OCTOBER 26TH
- 31ST
2015
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
Develop new strategies and teaching approaches in order to reduce the rate
of early school leavers.
Reduce the absenteeism rate in order to have students continuing their
secondary education and getting their certificate.
Involve students in European projects, activities and mobilities which will
enhance their motivation, make them face different school systems and
experience an added European value.
Continue with the process of internationalization we have started in our
schools.
Endow students with basic skills: we will pay special attention to
communicative, linguistic and skills in both their mother tongue and a
foreign language, which will contribute to a smoothen the transition to the
job market as we will teach students how to communicate effectively (Oral
presentations, speeches, writings...)
Promote a new approach in the schools. We aim at making the staff aware
of the need to revert the situation aforementioned and to work on new
teaching methods to cater for diversity.
Make families aware of the risks of absenteeism and early school leaving.
Learn from the partner schools new methods and techniques to deal with
school failure, motivation and diversity

DEVELOPING NEW STRATEGIES AND TEACHING APPROACHES
SCHOOL TIME GAMES – Math Games: multiplication, addition, geometry, problem solving and more!
Whether a student does well or struggles with Math, Mathematical games teach new concepts and provide lots of opportunity to practice.
Benefits of Using Games
• Motivation - children freely choose to participate and enjoy playing • Positive attitude - Games provide opportunities for building self-concept and developing
positive attitudes towards mathematics, through reducing the fear of failure and error; • Increased learning - in comparison to more formal activities, greater learning can occur
through games due to the increased interaction between children, opportunities to test intuitive ideas and problem solving strategies
• Different levels - Games can allow children to operate at different levels of thinking and to learn from each other.
• Assessment - the teacher has the opportunity to carry out diagnosis and assessment of learning in a non-threatening situation
• Few language barriers - The basic structures of some games are common to many cultures, and the procedures of simple games can be quickly learned through observation.
DEVELOPING NEW STRATEGIES AND TEACHING APPROACHES
PEER TO PEER
Spanish, Polish, Turkish and Romanian students teach Italian partners their language
ADVANTAGES OF PEER TEACHING
• Direct interaction between students promotes active learning.
• Peer teachers reinforce their own learning by instructing others.
• Students feel more comfortable and open when interacting with a peer.
• Peers and students share a similar discourse, allowing for greater
understanding.
• Students learn a great deal by explaining their ideas to others and by
participating in activities in which they can learn from their peers.
• They develop skills in organizing and planning learning activities, working
collaboratively with others, giving and receiving feedback and evaluating their
own learning.
Benefits of Outdoor Classroom
• The Outdoor Classroom exposes students through dire ct experience to nature or art areas.
• Uses experiential teaching methodologies to engage students. The Outdoor Classroom fosters active, hands-on, inquiry-based learning in a real world setting.
• Makes learning a multi-sensory experience. By engaging the senses of touch, smell, hearing, taste and seeing, students retain an intimate physical memory of activities that are long lasting and synergistic.
• Lends itself to inter-disciplinary studies. In seeking a holistic understanding of the outdoor classroom it is often necessary, and desirable, to employ multiple academic disciplines.
• Recognizes and celebrates differing learning styles .
• Connects the school to the neighborhood and the wor ld-at-large.
• The Outdoor Classroom is a reminder that innovation is alive and well in public education.
• Blurs the boundaries between academic learning and creative play. . Absenteeism goes down on Outdoor Classroom days. By preserving a child’s innate sense of curiosity and wonder we will foster active and engaged lifelong learners.
ROME: An Outdoor Art lesson
Having an Art lesson while walking around, surrounded by
history, art and architecture
Sulmona: Guides and tourists
The Italian students guide their partners and describe the monuments.
Most of the Italian students who participated in these activities as guides, reading and explaining the city,
the monuments, were chosen between those who had had problems of failure or absenteeism and were in
process to solve it.
Let’s have a lesson outside!
Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park
Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise National Park is famous in Italy, and all over the world, as a model for nature conservation and environmental safeguard.
Students learn to consider, know, and respect a unique and endangered wildlife
With the help of experienced guides students have the opportunity to reflect on and to become aware of the individual and social behaviors placing the human being in its right role within the Nature ecosystem.
Learning by doing: pasta time! A cooking lesson
and...eating at IPSARR Roccaraso (VET School)
Gaining knowledge and skills through direct experience of carrying out tasks
DISSEMINATION: Erasmus + with IPSARR School Principal
and students
No child left behind Erasmus+ teachers and students visit a VET School to describe their objectives and exchange ideas and good practices.
Most of these students
who are attending now
this VET school had
studied at Pattini
Liberatore and weren’t
early school leavers
because they could be
helped to find studies
that fitted them.
DISSEMINATION AT SCHOOL: FAMILIES, TEACHERS, STUDENTS
AND THE MEMORIAL SCHOOL ORCHESTRA
ERASMUS + NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND: TEACHERS AND STUDENTS

ACTIVITIES ARE MONITORED AND EVALUATED TO:
 provide the source of information showcasing project progress;
allow actors to learn from each other’s experiences
 reveal mistakes and offers paths for learning and improvements;
provide a way to assess the crucial link between implementers and beneficiaries on the
ground and decision-makers;
allow partners to evaluate whether the objectives have been achieved and the benefits
realized.
