Last Sunday, 25 teams of people walked through neighborhoods of Oregon and East Toledo praying for the people and sensing what God is doing there. It was an amazing day where God opened many of our eyes to see from a different perspective. So now what? That was the first step of many as we discover where God is working in our community, what needs He wants us to meet and how He wants to lead us to People of Peace that need the hope of Je-sus that we have. As we filter down to the specifics of what God is calling us to do, I am ex-tremely excited about what is going to happen. Because of your generosity in One Hope, we have been able to set aside money to use to meet needs and reach people in our community that do not have the hope that we have. Thank you for your generosity. People’s lives will continue to be changed because of what you are doing.

Unreached People Gropus - Kapu of India The word Kapu or Kaapu, in Telugu, means protector. This people group is also referred to by their caste title Naidu, which means leader. The Kapus were primarily a military/agrarian community who took up military service and participated in cultivation during peacetime. Consequently the Kapu subcastes also evolved based on occupation. Kapus who engaged in trade were referred to as Balija. Balijas who took up military service and protected trading caravans were called Balija Nayakulu or Balija Naidu. Modern day Kapus have banded together to fight for their political rights in the caste system. They have also organized agricultural unions to protect their way of life. A significant number of Kapus have today diver-sified into industry, arts and academia. However, substantial segments of the population are still farm-ers. Pray: that missionaries will be called to the Kapu; that Christian leaders will meet the spiritual and physical needs of the Kapu; that God will open the minds and hearts of the Kapu to the love of Christ.

BRIDAL DRESSES AND VEILS NEEDED FOR MALAWI We are helping missionary Marquita Mosher to collect bridal dresses and veils to start a business in Malawi. White wedding dresses and veils are very expensive in Malawi and are cost prohibitive for most. Marquita wants to rent the dresses, not only to the women of Malawi but also to pastors and students and use the dresses and veils as examples to teach interested women in Malawi how to start their own wedding dress rental/dress shop. If you have a wed-ding dress, veil or other head piece and you are willing to part with them, please contact Diana Anderson. NMI will collect dresses and veils through the end of May and will take care of shipping the items to Malawi.
