The Bahamas was a real paradise for pirates in the late 1600's to the early 1700's. Pirates are an integral part of the history of The Bahamas. The rampages of Edward Teach alias Blackbeard,Sir Henry Morgan, John Rackham alias Calico Jack and their female counterparts, Anne Bonny and Mary Read are well documented. However, it is impossible to distinguish facts from legends. There is little information on the pirates activities in the out-islands. Scottish sailor and pirate William Kidd is known to have anchored mostly in Elizabeth Harbour on Exuma Find out more, t could be rewarding. Details in upcoming technical information sent to Participants

We thank Southern Bahamas Exuma Tourist Center and Peace & Plenty Resort for their time, work and Contributions to make our visit to Exuma a memorable experience. Thank you Exuma !!! DOMINICAN REPUBLIC Dominican Republic was home to Taino Indians that lived there quite peaceable. In 1492, Columbus discovered the islands and named the island Hispaniola.

By the late 1960´s sugar cane was the gold of DR, but world economics required more diversification to protect the country’s economy from wild variations of sugar prices. It was in the late 1970´s that the government decided to take measures to bring tourism development into the country. In the last 15 years the Dominican Republic became the Caribbean island with the most hotel rooms, mostly under the ¨all inclusive¨ plan, where it ranks 1st in the world. In the last 5 years, the combination of superb beaches, low cost land development great warmth of the locals has transformed the country into luxury development heaven.

PUERTO RICO "the "Island of Enchantment," DAY 6: Thursday April 22: El Higuero Int’l MDJB – San Juan (Puerto Rico) TJIG Departure from El Higuero Int’l MDJB – La Romana (MDLR) 43 NM – Punta Cana (MDPC) 32 NM-

San Juan (TJIG) 129 NM 204 NM 10:00: Departure to TJIG Fuel & Customs: San Juan (PR) Longest leg over water: Punta Cana – Raphael Hernandez airport PR : 70 NM

Puerto Rico is 100 long by 35 miles wide and as a result of its geographical position in the center of the arc of the Antilles, Puerto Rico is essentially a crossroads of Hispanic and Anglo cultures. Despite it's very diverse influx of cultures, Puerto Rico has been a part of the United States since 1898 and Puerto Ricans have been U.S. citizens since 1917.

The Spaniards had the earliest and greatest influence to the Island at their arrival in 1493. During their 400-year tenure the Spaniards laid the bedrock of the language and culture. They built cities and towns, fortresses and churches, lighthouses and roadways. Close to 4 million people live on the Island. Residents of Puerto Rico have much in common with their fellow Americans in the continental United States, yet they retain a decidedly Hispanic heritage.

Combining over 300 miles of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, a large Tropical Rain forest , a Cave System millions of years old, and a Dry Forest filled with Cactus... and with its charm and warm people, Puerto Rico embraces all visitors.

As one of the oldest and most diversified cultures in the world, Puerto Rico is a vibrant, modern, bilingual, multicultural society, one that has been molded by Spanish, African, Indian and U.S. influences. Both ultra-modern and bewitchingly exotic, Puerto Rico is truly the Island of Enchantment.

Tropical Aviation FBO welcomes GGC Caribbean Air Challenge participants. Conveniently located on Isla Grande Executive Airport, within minutes of San Juan's premier hotels, casinos, beaches, cruise ship ports, arenas, museums, opera house, brand-new convention center, Old San Juan, and fine arts district, Tropical Aviation team will make you feel at home.
