DAY 1, Tuesday - Air Arrival Day* After a morning transfer from the airport to your hotel, take some time to relax and grab lunch at your leisure. After a 1:30 pm “meet & greet,” with your Tour Director and fellow travelers, you’ll depart on a city tour highlighting historic neighborhoods and exciting attractions including:

• La Boca, the birthplace of the tango.

• San Telmo, known for its colonial buildings and French-inspired architecture.

• Café Tortoni – Coffee break at the oldest coffee shop in Argentina that served as the artistic and intellectual capital of Buenos Aires.

• Main Square Plaza de Mayo, surrounded by the Casa Rosada (Presidential Headquarters, the balcony where Eva and Juan Perón made their speeches), the Cabildo (Colonial Town Hall, the first government house in Buenos Aires) and the cathedral.

• Recoleta Cemetery, an above ground cemetery lined with mausoleums and statues and where Evita Perón is buried.

At the end of the tour, return to your hotel. In the evening, savor the authentic flavors of Buenos Aires during a tour of the city’s famous “parrillas.” While delighting in the best that these steakhouses have to offer, you’ll learn about Argentina’s vibrant culture, meet locals and end on a sweet note with a visit to one of the best artisanal “heladerias” (ice cream shops) in Buenos Aires.

DAY 2, Wednesday - Buenos Aires/Iguazú Falls Enjoy an early breakfast at your hotel before a transfer to the airport for your short flight to Iguazú (about 1.5 hours). Upon arrival, you’ll be taken directly to Iguazú Falls National Park. Did you know Iguazú in the native Guaraní language means “great waters”? It’s not surprising, considering the park consists of 275 waterfalls, portrayed as a half moon stretching 2.7 kilometers alongside the Iguazú River. During your visit, you will behold the majesty of this exquisite place from many different vantage points. Your jungle and waterfall adventure includes:

• The Great Adventure – an 8km panoramic ride through the jungle with an experienced guide to the Puerto Macuco Base. After climbing 100 meters of stairs to a floating platform, you’ll board an inflatable boat for a 6km ride through the canyons of the Iguazú River and face the San Martín waterfall, the largest waterfall any motorboat can safely approach. You’ll probably get wet.

• A hiking excursion though the jungle along one of the two circuits. Enjoy unique views of each waterfall leading to a precipice of the 80m gorge at Devil’s Throat.

Lunch will be provided during the tour. Order of attractions may be altered due to local conditions. At the conclusion of the tour, check-in to your hotel to relax and have dinner.

DAY 3, Thursday - Iguazú Falls/Village Fortin Mborore/Buenos Aires Your day begins with a full breakfast. After which, you’ll visit the Guaraní community “Village Fortin Mborore,” an isolated jungle village that maintains its same lifestyle from thousands of years ago – an exclusive experience only Norwegian offers. Here, you’ll learn about the secrets of the jungle, their natural medicine, culture, songs, dances, crafts, philosophy of life and beliefs. Enjoy the “Spirit of Trees,” an expert guided jungle walk. Visit a temple in the jungle and learn about tribe initiations and baptisms. Take a break for lunch at the Park Restaurant. Then it’s one last visit to Devil’s Throat from another amazing viewpoint. Continue to the airport for an evening flight back to Buenos Aires.

DAY 4, Friday - Buenos Aires After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy the day all to yourself before donning your hottest dance shoes for a sultry tango lesson taught by professional dancers. Once you’ve got your moves down, step to dinner, followed by an authentic tango show that’ll leave you breathless.

DAY 5, Saturday - Buenos Aires/San Antonio de Areco/Embarkation Spend the day at The XIX century “Estancia” (Ranch) El Rosario de Areco. Estancias of South America are livestock estates, where cattle, horses and other animals roam the lovely pampas (grasslands) that play a large role in Argentine culture. Estancia workers (gauchos) are equestrian masters and have their own vibrant culture of music and dance.

Upon arrival at El Rosario de Areco, you’ll be welcomed by gauchos on horseback and meet the owners, a traditional family of pioneers kind enough to open their homes and share their way of life. In addition to horseback riding, swimming, carriage rides and walks around the estancia, you’ll also enjoy an amazing gaucho and horses show, a folkloric performance with music and local dances.

Later, enjoy a traditional Argentine barbecue parrilla lunch, wine from the ranch’s winery and fresh desserts made from cow's milk that is produced on site. In the afternoon, you’ll be transferred to the pier in Buenos Aires for embarkation aboard Norwegian Sun.

After a 4:00 pm meet & greet with your Tour Guide and fellow travellers, you will depart on a city tour visiting the highlights of the old town and new town, such as the cathedral, Main Square, the newly renovated pre-Columbian museum and the new residential area of Santiago. For the most spectacular views, you’ll also visit San Cristóbal hill, the highest point in Santiago. Enjoy the evening on your own.

DAY 2, Wednesday - Easter Island Easter Island (Rapa Nui) is one of the most remote yet inhabited islands in the world. Little is known about the origin of these impressive, monolithic human statues called moai. And since anthropologists haven’t been able to confirm the original purpose of these spectacular monuments, visitors have been enchanted by their mysteries for centuries.

In the morning, you’ll be transfered to the airport to take your flight (5 hours) to Easter Island. Upon arrival, you’ll check in to your hotel. The afternoon is when your half-day tour begins. Drive up the extinct volcano Rano Kau on your way to Crater Lake and enjoy a magnificent island view. Afterwards, we’ll take you to the ceremonial village of Orongo, where the birdman competition took place and even more beauty awaits on the opposite coast as you look out to the three islets of Motu Nui, Motu Iti and Motu Kao Kao. Learn about the influence of pre-Inca architects on Easter Island at archaeological site Ahu Vinapu. Then it’s back to your hotel for a relaxing dinner.

DAY 3, Thursday - Easter Island Enjoy a full breakfast at your hotel before a day exploring Easter Island. A drive to the southern coast is where you’ll see not yet restored treasures Ahus Vaihu in the bay of Hanga Te’e and Akahanga where king Hotu Matua, the first settler of the island was supposedly buried. When you arrive at Rano Raraku, marvel at a quarry filled with almost 900 stone statues. Then visit Ahu Tongariki (restored with 15 Moais), the most recent and biggest restoration on the island. On the east coast is where

you’ll visit Ahu Te Pito Kura and the “Navel of the World.” Finally, you’ll head to the beach of Anakena (the only Polynesian-style beach on the island) with its restored Ahus Nau Nau and Ature Huke. A boxed lunch will be provided on tour. After arriving back at your hotel, you can relax and get ready for dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 4, Friday - Easter Island/Santiago Take the morning to explore on your own in Rapa Nui. Then transfer to the airport for your flight to Santiago. Upon arrival in Santiago, we’ll take you to your hotel. Enjoy the evening on your own.

DAY 5, Saturday - Santiago/Valparaíso/Embarkation After breakfast, your guide will take you to see the best of Valparaíso on a bus tour. Experience two very different sections of town: El Plan, the lower part adjacent to the port and “Los Cerros” or “El Plan Alto,” the section up on the hillside. Once in El Plan, you’ll see the Plaza Sotomayor, dominated by the Naval Headquarters building and the impressive monument to the Heroes of Iquique. Take El Peral (funicular) to the famous Alegre Hill to reach the “Paseo Yugoslavo,” where you can snap some great pictures. From here you’ll visit the fine arts museum Palacio Baburizza, which was declared a national monument in 1979, and houses collections from both Chilean and European artists. After a light snack, you’ll cross over to El Plan and see the Turri building, El Mercurio building, the oldest newspaper in Chile still in operation, the stock exchange and the public pbrary. You’ll then arrive at La Sebastiana, one of the museum houses of the laureate Nobel Prize winner, Pablo Neruda for a guided tour. At its completion, your bus will be waiting to take you to the terminal for embarkation aboard Norwegian Sun.

Take El Peral (funicular) to the famous Alegre Hill to reach the “Paseo Yugoslavo,” where you can snap some great pictures. From here you’ll visit the fine arts museum Palacio Baburizza, which was declared a national monument in 1979, and houses collections from both Chilean and European artists. After a light snack, you’ll cross over to El Plan and see the Turri building, El Mercurio building, the oldest newspaper in Chile still in operation, the stock exchange and the public library. You’ll then arrive at La Sebastiana, one of the museum houses of the laureate Nobel Prize winner. Pablo Neruda for a guided tour. At its completion, board your bus for the trip to Santiago. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

DAY 2, Sunday - Easter Island Easter Island (Rapa Nui) is one of the most remote yet inhabited islands in the world. Little is known about the origin of these impressive, monolithic human statues called moai. And since anthropologists haven’t been able to confirm the original purpose of these spectacular monuments, visitors have been enchanted by their mysteries for centuries.

In the morning, you’ll be transferred to the airport to take your flight (5 hours) to Easter Island. Upon arrival, you’ll check in to your hotel. The afternoon is when your half-day tour begins. Drive up the extinct volcano Rano Kau on your way to Crater Lake and enjoy a magnificent island view. Afterwards, we’ll take you to the ceremonial village of Orongo, where the birdman competition took place and even more beauty awaits on the opposite coast as you look out to the three islets of Motu Nui, Motu Iti and Motu Kao Kao. Learn about the influence of pre-Inca architects on Easter Island at archaeological site Ahu Vinapu. Then it’s back to your hotel for dinner.

DAY 3, Monday - Easter Island Enjoy a full breakfast at your hotel before a day exploring Easter Island. A drive to the southern coast is where you’ll see not yet restored treasures Ahus Vaihu in the bay of Hanga Te’e and Akahanga where king Hotu Matua, the first settler of the Island was supposedly buried. When you arrive at Rano Raraku, marvel at the quarry of almost 900 stone statues. Then visit Ahu Tongariki (restored with 15 Moais), most recent and biggest restoration on the island. On the east coast is where you’ll visit Ahu Te Pito Kura and the “Navel of the World.” Finally, you’ll head to the beach of Anakena (the only Polynesian-style beach on the island) with its restored Ahus Nau Nau and Ature Huke. A boxed lunch will be provided on tour. After arriving back at your hotel, you can relax and get ready for dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 4, Tuesday - Easter Island/Santiago Take the morning to explore on your own in Rapa Nui. Then transfer to the airport for your flight to Santiago. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

DAY 5, Wednesday - Return Home Enjoy a day of touring the highlights of Santiago including the cathedral, Main Square, the newly renovated pre-Columbian Museum and the new residential area of Santiago. For the most spectacular views, you’ll also visit San Cristóbal hill, the highest point in Santiago. Hotel check out time is Noon (late check out may be available – inquire locally). Transfer to the airport for your return home is included.
