PLEASE NOTE THAT THE RACE FORMAT HAS BEEN CHANGED
BASED ON INPUT FROM YOU CHUMPS! We will be running a regular
9am-4:30pm endure event; no longer a tag-team race.
Entry Fee: $900 per team (1 car + 4 drivers + transponder rental. Four drivers required.
All drivers, crew or anyone on pit lane must 18 or older per the track’s insurance rules.) $100 per add’l driver; crew and dinner guests $50 per person.
As of December 23, we still have a few spots remaining! Registration & Payment Deadline: 30 October 2012 (or when we reach 35 teams)

SUNDAY – 30 DECEMBER 2012
12:00pm – 4:00pm Tech Inspection / Registration o All teams are required to complete Tech/Registration the day before
the event – no exceptions for this event! Period. o UPDATE: Because of a track rental on Sunday, we have now been
advised by the track that we cannot access the paddock until 6:00am on Monday morning, 31 December. For those teams who were planning to camp in the paddock on Sunday night, you can still camp on the track property but in the designated campsites

surrounding the track: Chaparral and Can-Am Circle “C” Campgrounds are $35 per night. Both campgrounds features: • Sites with water and electricity • Dump station • Level sites with a black top pad suitable for cars, pick-up campers and RVs (sites cannot accommodate tents with stakes) • Bathrooms and hot showers within a short walk • Picnic tables and fire pits SEE MAP ON FINAL PAGE OF THIS DOCUMENT. Laguna Seca Supplemental Rules:
A 92dB noise restriction will be strongly, strictly and unimaginably enforced (Own a rotary? Don't even think about running here without a stock muffler
system. All teams are advised to bring a spare muffler… just in case! You’ve been warned! Sound monitoring is DRIVER’S RIGHT, so move your exhaust exit to the left!)
No one under 18 allowed in the pit lane area (by County regulations) during the race. Under 18 is allowed in the paddock area and elsewhere, just not on pit lane (unless they are a registered driver).

Spectators/Pit Passes: There is no charge for spectators; however, without a wristband (crew, driver or guest wristband), spectators are not allowed on pit lane! Wristbands are also required for entry to the New Year’s Eve party. Concessions: The raceway food concession stand will be open for the race event on Monday 31 December from 8:00am to 2:00pm offering their famous tacos & teriyaki platters. Fuel: Yes, the track has 91 octane fuel for sale (quite reasonable, too!)
Designated Charity: Per the 2012 Rules, the purchase of bonus/charity laps is no
longer offered. However, ChumpCar is pleased to adopt the Ronald McDonald House Charities as its corporate charity and net proceeds from ChumpCar merchandise sales have been committed to this amazing cause! Novice School: Novice school will not be offered at this race. If you have any green bean drivers for this event, please drop us a note at [email protected] and we can send you a Driver’s Handbook via email to share with your team. Purse: No prize money but some really nice trophies! And all the bragging rights that come with racing at Laguna! ChumpCar Hotels of Choice:
Hotels and restaurants are at a premium with it being a holiday weekend; please plan accordingly. There are two local Comfort Inn properties; property closest to the raceway is the Comfort Inn Monterey Peninsula Airport (5 miles), followed by the Comfort Inn Salinas (10 miles). Be sure to contact the hotel properties directly and remember there is a 24 hour cancellation policy.

Weather: We’re racing, regardless of the weather. At this time, the weather forecast is for High 59/Low 44 and 0% chance of precipitation. Garages: At this time, track garages will not be available for rental. Should we get hit
with a major storm (unlikely, see above), and we have enough team rental interest, we may consider renting the garages from the track for $100 each.

Okay, now the good stuff…
The event is open to all “ChumpCar” race teams… and EC cars, if space is
available. $500-valued cars get first priority for registration.
LeMons teams are welcome to participate under the “Extending a LeMons
Branch” provisional rule. For details on the LeMons provisional rule:

Maximum 35 teams allowed. A team is defined as a race vehicle (meeting
ChumpCar rules) + a minimum of 4 drivers.
Okay, more good stuff… Here’s how the weekend and the party will go…
Registration and tech inspection is on Sunday (30 December), between 12-
noon and 4:00pm. NO TECH OR REGISTRATION OR GEAR CHECK WILL
OCCUR ON MONDAY. Is that perfectly clear?
At registration, each entry will receive wrist bands for the race, as well as
wrist bands and drink coupons for the ChumpCar New Year’s Eve Party at
the Red Bull Energy Center.
Camping is available in the Laguna Seca paddock on Monday night. No
open fires and no race cars fired after 5:00pm or before 8:00am the next
morning. Is that perfectly clear?
Driver’s meeting at 8:00am on Monday (31 December).
The race will start at 9:00am and end at 4:25pm. Cars will receive one
cool-off lap. All cars must be off track by 4:30pm.
The ChumpCar New Year’s Eve Party starts at 5:30pm up at the Red Bull
Energy Center at the track. You can BYOB… HOWEVER, NO GLASS
BOTTLES ARE ALLOWED ANYWHERE IN THE PADDOCK. ALL
BEVERAGES MUST BE IN CANS OR PLASTIC CUPS. BOTTLES IN FOAM
HOLDERS ARE NOT ALLOWED. Is that perfectly clear?

ChumpCar will have on-site staff and security to ensure that no glass
bottles are utilized in the paddock area. ChumpCar reserves the right to
remove any individual(s) that are unruly or disruptive to the event.
After the race… here’s what else will be happening:

Seafood cioppino (aka “Chumppino), pasta, salad, garlic
bread and beverages
ChumpSuds, ChumpWine, Chumpagne, soft drinks… or
BYOB
o DJ, karaoke, dancing & New Year’s celebration
Reminder: No smoking in the Red Bull Energy Center or within 20
feet of the building.
And, Tuesday morning… join us for a ChumpCar continental breakfast! 9:00am
– 10:00am. All teams and guests must vacate the pit and paddock by 12:00pm.
So, what do you get for your $900 entry fee? Your team (4 drivers) gets a full day
of racing at Laguna Seca + 1 night camping pass in the paddock + full New
Year’s Event dinner & festivities + 2 drink coupons and the opportunity to say, “I
was there!”
Bring your friends and family and guests! Additional New Year’s Eve party wrist bands available for only $50 (for 21 and older)! Family pack wrist bands (2 adults and 2 kids) available for $100. Need an extra Kids dinner ticket? No problem… only $5! Wrist bands include dinner, 4-drink coupons (soft drinks for kids), and all the festivities! Taxi-cab service will be available from the track to all Monterey, Carmel and Salinas hotels.
