A cantilevered structure has always fascinated me with how visually

and structurally balanced and striking the design is. I wanted to convey

tension in my design which in my opinion is a powerful design element

used in modern architecture.

The aerodynamic shape of the peregrine falcon helped point me in the right direction

for this project. The extended wings and the top curve of the bird while in a nose dive

is a prominent shape I go to when sketching out cars which I discovered to be the most

interesting shape when approaching this project.

If I had the choice to design any object it would be a car. During our class

critique I displayed my full size mockup in which many people stated my

vehicle looked like a Prius. Instead of shunning the comparison away I began

to embrace it. I then started to think, what would a Prius and a NASCAR

stock car look like with a rocket behind it?

During this project my group was given the task of making a new bar of soap for the

Fairmont Hotel. The hotel itself is known for being very high end so I wanted to create a

bar of soap that was elegant yet still simple in shape. I didn’t want the design to look like

there was too much going on. I kept it as attractive as I could while being ergonomic.

My hanger was inspired by the need to hang small objects such as tools and pencils; objects

designers need in order to make models or sketch out products. When I’m working on a

model in the garage or skecthing I tend to lose the smaller tools like pencils, drillbits and

small files. With this hanger I can easily store my necessities next to my tool bench or hang

my pens and pencils next to my drafting table at home.

F O L D I N G I N S T R U C T I O N SThis hanger was designed to fold in less than 10 steps. With easier instructions the assembly can be completed quickly without confusion. The unit can hold up to 7 pounds of material which is important for students needing to hold extra pens and pencils or workers needing to carry an array of tools, bolts, or drillbits. This can also be hung next to a desk or a toolbench resulting in a product that has mutliple uses.

The hanger folds in 7 steps making the process of storing quick and simple.The sturdy design and handle enable the hanger to be carried from workspace to workspace. For students this would be convenient to hold items on a desk in a clean and convenient manner.

The Lamborghini Aventador SV floor mats were the inspiration behind my dremel rede-

sign. The triangle shape is prominent throughout the body I created. I find it difficult to

find a comfortable light dremel to use so I redesigned it with ergonomics and lightness

being the foremost issues I chose to address while still maintaining a rugged texture.

My 1972 Camaro has been the testbed for many of my car design ideas. The top photo is a render I created as an intitial idea for the Camaro. I designed the diffuser and spoiler using the Mustang as inspiration. The parts were built out of aluminum with the helping hand of my father and creates a unique look compared to other vehicles on the road. The objective of this project was to create high amounts of downforce at high speeds on the track as well as a test of my abilities as a designer and builder in which this project was a success.
