Graffiti exploiting the natural environment as such: dirt, trees and leaves, game of light and shadows. Unlike my past works which were designed on plain white, grey or black foundation, I chose to preserve the natural Thai wall patina composed of greens and greys resulting from humidity, foam , pollution and overall: time. In my opinion, keeping those urban specificities make the work look more authentic and locally specific, and the pattern look more organic, like it would have grown naturally on the wall by itself.

Yesterday I felt some ghosts,This morning I felt an angel .I woke up with the rising sun ,And as serene the morning was , my # soul was.No ghosts anymore, clarity was glowing bright. There's a coral heart surrounded by trashes.Did it turn from true red to fade copycat?Because the trashes were so dark, that timid red heart became bright.Because there was so much vinegar, honey tasted lesser than a sweet thing.Because the heart that beats outside is well hidden under a blanket,Because the trashes always surround hearts. Because...Because ...

I painted miss bloom today on a large grey wall. Illegal work, simple means. I still made time to make a nice white background.Does it make sense to paint a smiley character in the middle of a dusty grey environment ?I think it is a quick work that is contextually relevant because the happiness stands out in the middle of darkness. If legal I could have made it sophisticated and worked on a richer composition. But once you get 30m to execute something like that, you go to the A guy said to me : you draw like children. At some point I take it as a compliment.I painted miss bloom today on a large grey wall. Illegal work, simple means. However it is clear that this long wall of grey attitude was boring before she popped on it like a flower growing and coming from apparently nowhere.

'Shakti Esperanza' (Part 2)

'Shakti Esperanza' part 2 of my new graffiti mural in street 84 Phnom Penh - 11m x 3.5m. While scrubbing the wall a substantial old and unstable piece of it fell apart. I love the brick hole effect integrated as an organic shape in the composition. For me another aspect of working outside is to use the natural elements as such without looking for too much perfection. In my opinion, it adds some character and authenticity - similar approach than in Bangkok where I used the mossy wall as background with the shade of the leaves.

as background with the shade of the leaves. From the brick color derived the choice of ochre yellow, as slightly faded shade to go with that vintage patina-inspired style. The presence of natural elements such as water or trees around the wall is certainly an important characteristic in my painting scheme, as well as an open sky. Anthea Missy

[1]Techniques - spray paint and introduction of liquid paint use

I feel super happy to have taken time to mix colors and managed to make a clean work with a brush. I started that new practice 3 months ago and it took me more time because I was not used to the brush. However, when I came to Cambodia, I knew I wanted to progress in my art by exploring things I did not do. I am happy of that self imposed training. The use of liquid paint is interesting as it helps me get sharp lines and I like that clean aspect. On the contrary the spraycan effects slightly irregular and with air effects gives more movements and temper to the artwork as it reflects the speed and impulse of the moment. I like spontaneous expression, instinctive, defined and free. And I also like to add more sophistication and

control to the piece with the brush work. Because I was slow 3 months ago I really had to think a lot of what I was doing with a brush in one hand. Now, after 3 months, I can feel that instinctive sense of expression I have with a spraycan can be transferred to the brush as I am faster. For me mixing liquid paint techniques and spray paint techniques gives a balance as an experience for myself between the am faster. For me mixing liquid paint techniques and spray paint techniques gives a balance as an experience for myself between the aggressive energy of letting my hand draw large curves with a spray can and making more time using a brush in silence and with an almost meditative and sleepy mindset. People see a picture.

For me it is more about the overall experience painting a piece whether it is fast or slow, complex or more simple. With that painting, it is the first time I enjoy sitting and watching it for long minutes, because I really feel something good and vibrant in it that does not interfere with any tortured feelings that an artist can unconsciously transfer in one's art. It is very important for me to be in a great spirit when I paint, because I deeply believe that the way I feel will be felt in my art. I want to give the best in it, I want people to feel good and find room for their own heaven to breathe when they look at a mural I have painted. It does not belong to me anymore. It is given to people, like a flower to be smelt by whoever wants to, in a public garden.

[2] inspiration

I explained in my video published on Instagram and youtube that I am very inspired by abstract things. More importantly and despite my very realistic personality, I can see things into things, see an image in an image that does not exist or a character in a shadow. My imagination does not need any drug to go there. For me it is a new thing I want to explore and requires a more methodical approach to be expressed in one image... However coming from deep quick instants where perceptions just explode from what exist to the unseen.I find it interesting to balance my spontaneous expression with that new approach of following unconscious perceptions objectified in new approach of following unconscious perceptions objectified in conscious patterns and imagery.

The picture of the boat was for me another picture where I saw a girl am racing a person, a boy or a girl... Still undefined. It was more about the emotion I felt when I saw that embrace pictures in my head, but more importantly overwhelming because it was a pure expression of grace and love.

[3] Love message

Many people asked me about the meaning . For once I am into figurative art, I expected people not to ask as much as they did with my abstract paintings. My only word about it may be that people need to believe in something and it is not my role as myself to tell people what to think. I have strong points of views on any topic but I have never considered them to be universal truth.I have seen people are very intolerant towards each other and that breaks my heart. The only religion that is worth believing infor me is love.Anyone wants and needs to give and receive love.It is the purest thing, making us closer to grace, to the essential of being connected with ourselves and others.

Life gives you everything for free. However, there is only one thing you gotta take by yourself and which takes everything you got because it is priceless : freedom. Freedom is pure . Make it on. You cannot copy it . You have to feel it . And for sure you will.

Page 66: ANTHEA MISSY PORTFOLIO 2015 PART 2/2 - STREET ART GRAFFITI MURALS

This morning I woke up and saw the Mekong river enlightened by a high sun. The image was such that half of a moon was to appear in front of my eyes in bright silver. It was all shimmering and the waves were dancing in silent gold. I thought I was in a dream but it was real. The room was very unusual like from another era. The view was from a high location. I could see the houses and gardens but still this amazing wave of light and gold prevailed over any other detail. It seemed to me nothing was so real. But it was real. I looked at it and closed my eyes again wishing I could wake up again and be amazed a second time, which

Lotus flowers

could wake up again and be amazed a second time, which happened. The motion of waves was like stars dancing as a glittery mixture. It was atmospheric and the atmosphere did not leave me. As I went along a usual social day, the vision kept present on my mind at any second and is still now. I don't want to go back to that moment, and I don't really have to, because it seems the moment literally captured me. I have no picture to share, I had no phone. Just a nice melody on my mind. The melody of an infinite motion where the light and the darkness are just one same thing to live and love.AM

Page 67: ANTHEA MISSY PORTFOLIO 2015 PART 2/2 - STREET ART GRAFFITI MURALS

Last night I was awaken by the wind. It seemed like a dream to hear the power of the wind here in Phnom Penh. The sound seemed like the cold wind where I am from. If I closed my eyes I could see myself in the cold winter or Belgium, France, England or Amsterdam. I felt nostalgia ! I woke up and had a ride with my Moto. It was freezing ! My dream came true ! First time here ! I am so happy with my jacket drinking coffee outside with my hair as warming fur !
