Thamarai Kannan (Director, Virtual Technologies) Technically Supported by The workshop covers the important and timely issues involving use of EM simulation software tool FEKO for modern antenna theory and design. Developed specifically for engineering faculties for computational electro-mag- netics, this workshop will give participants the under- standing of antenna theory and techniques, the skills to analyse, design and measure various antennas parameters and the knowledge of antenna measurements and radia- tion characteristics. This workshop also contributes to the practical aspects of the antenna theory primarily in engineering science and design. Participants learn fundamental antenna engineer- ing principles, and associated physical phenomena using latest EM Simulation tool FEKO. This workshop will feature how EM Simulation tool FEKO could be incorporated into teaching practicals. For exam- ple, how tasks on designing, simulating or constructing simple or complex antennas could include EM Simulation tool FEKO. Impedance measurements, radiation patterns, near fields, directivity, gain and losses can be calculated of various antennas, not to mention parameter studies where valuable insights may be gained.
