God informs us about the real meaning of the life of this worldin Sura 67, verse 2:

As stated in this verse, everybody is tested in his deeds. Thosewho do good desire to earn the pleasure of God and to enterparadise. And they now that they therefore need to spend everymoment of their lives engaged in su!h an e"ort.

Some people, however, are mista en on this point. They thin that only performing prayers and avoiding what is forbidden are forthe pleasure of God, and that the rest of the time is not !onne!ted tothe religion.

#n fa!t man should try to earn the good pleasure of God at everysingle moment, in every word, in every thought and in every deed.Someone who intends to devote every moment of his life to Godalways spea s in a manner that will be pleasing to $im. $e remindspeople of God, forbids them what is wrong and !ommands them todo what is right. At every instant, he !onsiders how he !an best earnthe good pleasure of God.

To spend one%s entire life for God is among the basi! demandsof the religion. Therefore in Sura 6, verse &62, God !ommandsbelievers to:

The main purpose of a person who fears God is to be morallypleasing to $im. This person nows that he needs to improve himself and to engage in a !ontinual e"ort to be better in behaviour'be!ause virtues su!h as sin!erity, honesty, diligen!e, self(sa!ri)!eand modesty have no *upper limits+.

A person%s spiritual improvement will be rapid if he sees himself as imperfe!t and see s to be!ome better. Su!h a person puri)eshimself of his wrongdoings and progresses towards even betterbehaviour every single day. #f someone sees himself as su"i!ient inany matter, then he will not attempt to see or ma e any
