The Year of Mercy Dec. 8, 2015- Nov. 20, 2016
Pope Francis’ Teaching on Mercy from his Angelus talk on March 17, 2013
Jesus’ attitude is striking: we do not hear the words of scorn, we do not hear words of condemnation, but only words of love, of mercy, which are an invitation to conversation. “Neither do I condemn you; go, and do not sin again.” Ah! Brothers and Sisters, God’s face is the face of a merciful father who is always patient. Have you thought about God’s patience, the patience He has with each one of us? That is His mercy. He always has patience, patience with us. He understands us. He waits for us. He does not tire of forgiving us if we are able to return to Him with a contrite heart. “Great is God’s mercy,” says the Psalm.

2016 Lenten Enrichment Program
In the early church, the Season of Lent was a time of preparation for baptism and for entering into the celebration of the Resurrection. Through the centuries Christians have approached Lent in a spirit of prayer, almsgiving and fasting. We, today, are invited to nurture our souls by participating in the enrichment programs offered here at the parish. Topics and materials for sign-up for these groups will be available the last two weeks of January. The sessions will begin the first week of Lent. (February 15
th). We will not have any
meetings the week of February 22nd
- 26th
due to our Lenten Mission. Check the bulletin and the sign-up area in the Gathering Space for more details on the small group sessions.

The morning sessions will begin with a Prayer Celebration followed by a shorter form of the evening presentation. Mass will be celebrated each evening followed by a presentation. The Monday evening service will include the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Extra priests will be available for confession. Tuesday’s presentation will include anointing with blessed oils. Faith Direct enables parishioners to make their Church contributions through either direct debit from their checking/savings account or through their credit/debit card. No more writing checks or searching for envelopes on the way out the door. Now you can apply the convenience of direct debit to your parish offerings in much the same way as you may now use it to make your mortgage, car or tuition payments.
Please enroll by responding to the mailing you received or visit www.faithdirect.net to enroll securely online. Our parish code is AL724.
God Bless You!
