Keywords: Tool inventory, Tool Life, Tool Magazine Size

In steel pipe manufacturing industries cutting tools are used for removing extra materialsfrom the welding zone in order to achieve an uniform and smooth finish. When a tool fails thewhole production needs to be stopped, which leads to loss of production time and material. Usingidentical multiple tools in the tool magazine can minimize the number of stoppage for changingthe tools in the magazine. However, this option adds extra cost for maintaining a bigger tool mag-azine. In this research a total cost model is developed for the tool magazine in terms of usabletime for a tool magazine and the number of tools in a magazine (i.e., the size of magazine). Themodel is optimally solved to find out the appropriate usable time for a tool magazine for differentmagazine size, while minimizing the total cost. Numeral results show that the optimum total costreduces with the increase of the magazine size. Results also show that the expected number of toolsrequired in a year reduces with the increase magazine size. Hence the outcomes of this researcheventually reduces the inventory size of cutting tools in the pipe industries.

Keywords: AISI M2 Powder, SKD61, Laser Metal Deposition, Hardness, Fusion Characteristics

Laser metal deposition(LMD) is referred to as direct metal deposition, laser powder de-position, direct energy deposition, or laser cladding. The LMD technology is a simple and additivemanufacturing process which uses overlay welding by laser while the laser beam generates someweld pool on the workpiece surface with adding weld pool through powder nozzle. This processis possible to modify as advanced parts and repair of locally damaged components, and also makemetal surface to have outstanding performance layer like high wear resistance, thermal resistanceand corrosion resistance. In this study, AISI M2 powder and SKD61hot work steel plate were usedin order to investigate the fusion characteristics of LMD track. The LMD experimental equipmentconsisted in powder nozzle, laser welding head and powder supply device. The model of laser os-cillator for LMD test is TruDisk 4001 as a 4 kW disk laser of Germany Trumpf. For tests the laserbeam injects from the oscillator to the material surface through laser welding head and powdernozzle while the laser beam diameter is kept as 1 2 mm and the powder is supplied continuouslyfrom the equipment of rotary disk type, and transmitted to powder nozzle using carrier gas. Laserpower was considered under the range of 2.0 4.0 kW using a diode-pumped disk laser. The con-ditions of the laser beam diameter of 0.3 mm, layer number of 1, travel speed of 0.1 m/sec, headslope angle of 0 degree, powder feed rate of 4.0 rpm and powder travel gas of 4 l/min were fixed. From these results, there is no sudden hardness variation in same laser power condition, and thehardness of horizontal direction was decreased as the laser power increases by measuring hardnessof melted zone, remelted zone, and HAZ as 100um interval at 100um below the base metal surface. In addition, in case of the vertical direction hardness, the hardness of the HAZ was lower than thatof the melted zone and becomes lower as it close to the base metal.

Changing of majors affects how course credits are counted and often need additional course-work to satisfy the degree requirements. Although the Commission on Higher education (CHED)provides policies for course credit to college transfers still many Higher Education Institutions(HEI) vary in course credit policy. Course Evaluation Generator (CEG) solved the problems en-countered in the academic advising which are: correctness in crediting courses; automation oncourse generation; and evaluation of the remaining course. CEG used Tesseract optical characterrecognition engines for reading text images from the transcript of records converting it into digitaltext. RAD approach was used in the development for constant testing of the prototype. CEG wassuccessfully deployed, tested, and evaluated by the user-respondents having a weighted mean of3.41 for accuracy which means that respondents strongly agreed in the correctness of generatingcourse. Therefore, it has met the necessary requirement and its features are all functional.

This study investigated how the parents administrative activities for integrating overseas opera-tions into its corporate system, and transferring its firm-specific advantages to overseas operations, influence the exploitative and explorative capabilities of foreign subsidiaries. With a database ofKorean MNEs and their foreign subsidiaries, we found that MNEs can relatively easily develop aforeign subsidiarys exploitative capabilities based on the parents supportive activities and socializa-tion practices. However, The results suggest that it will challenge to build explorative capabilitiesin foreign subsidiaries, since the mechanisms for enhancing exploitative capabilities and parentcontrol may have unexpected negative and disrupting effects on them under certain conditions.

The Narrative Rues in Agusan Manobo Folk Narratives

*Estrella D. AlfabetoCentral Mindanao University, Philippines

Corresponding Email: [email protected]

Keywords: Manobo Folk Narratives

Propps Morphology is applicable to the Agusan Manobo folk narratives. The Agusan Manobofolk narratives, taken as a single tale, has 27 functions, has all the dramatis personae except forthe dispatcher. Based on Propps propositions (on pair arrangements, task differentiation, spheresof action, multiple villainies and exclusive pairs) the Agusan Manobo folk narratives was foundto have four common pair arrangements, involved B tasks (tasks leading to a search), have mul-tiple spheres of action, have multiple interwoven and sequential villainies, and exclusive pairs ofstruggle[H] and victory [J]. These propositions were likewise used as bases for determining theviolations and creative exploitations of the functions of the narratives. The concordant measuresof creative exploitation and disconcordant measures of incongruities and violations of the narra-tives reveal that the structure is congruent to that of Propps morphology. Based on the structureof the functions of the common pair arrangements and task differentiation of Agusan Manobo folknarratives, seven specific one general narrative rules were derived. The general rule states that theAgusan Manobo folk narrative may or may not be introduced by an initial situation[] or absenta-tion [] or both. The main narrative core circles around interdiction [] and violation of interdiction[], reconnaisance [], delivery [], trickery [] and complicity []. Other consequential functions whichare considered peripheraal are as follows: villainy [A or a], mediation [B], counteraction [C], de-parture [], struggle [H], liquidation of lack [K], punishment [U], transformation [T] and return [].This rule is presented as:

[(] AaBCHKUTW General Rule:This narrative rule depicts cognition and worldview of the Agusan Manobo. This tells us that

the Agusan Manobos world and cognition revolves around nature and the spiritworld, baylans andtaboos and crimes and survival. 6.4 Recommendations The study is limited to the folk narrativesof one Municipality in Agusan del Sur which are mostly rendered by less than fifty story tellersin Binisaya. Transcription and translations might have affected the identification of the structureand interpretation of meaning of the narratives. It is then recommended that a wider scope and alonger time of study be done in the future. The present study made use of one basis of structuralmorphology. It is suggested that future studies be done using other measures so as to expandand widen the scope of interpretation of the structures of the narratives under study. The rulesformulated in this study may be tested for its application to other Manobo folk narratives or that ofother tribes in Mindanao.
