Our stylized “A” was introduced in 2000 in conjunction with the School’s official name change from the university of Alberta Faculty

of Business to the university of Alberta School of Business.

The triangular “A” was meant to convey the strength of learning and faculty and to suggest a peak, a pinnacle,

a striving to the top, a higher business education.

The design also features an abstract “S” and “B” and depicts the Alberta landscape of mountains flowing down into rivers, streams of knowledge, fields of dreams.

In 2010, the vision remains and our name has been preserved.

The Alberta School of Business at the University of Alberta.

ALBERTA Always has been. Always will be.

Statement of Activity and Cash Flows*

* This statement reflects cash-based activities and represents a managerial view of the School’s fiscal operations. Accordingly, certain activities such as fund raising, professional development, and research recognize revenue when it is received rather than when it is pledged or committed.

1 This includes a proportionate share of academic payroll as it relates to the teaching and research components of scholarly responsibility to the University. 2 Net Unrestricted Reserves comprise balances in own funds that are generally available to the School to cover operations.
