For the purpose of enabling teachers from different regions to share knowledge of their culture with others and creating a sense of appreciation for the diversity and richness of India’s natural and cultural heritage, CCRT has made a great attempt to establish the Cultural Clubs in the schools of every state.
In the first year after the opening of Cultural Club, Uttarpara Girls’ High School, Dt‐Hooghly, W.B has attempted a little to present some cultural activities in the session 2014‐15.

INAUGARATION OF UTTARAN
“UTTARAN” formally inaugurated by Dr.Asish Bandyopadhyay (Honorable Minister of State in Education, Health & Family Welfare of W.B) and Dr.Anup Ghoshal (MLA of Uttarpara) on 12th August 2014.

2. SEMINAR ON
THE EFFECT OF INSECTICIDES ON ENVIRONMENT

The use of toxic pesticides and its effect on environment has become a common practice around the world. Pesticides can be found in the air we breathe, the food we eat and the water we drink. The seminar was organized for spreading awareness among the students.

‘To offer innumerable benefits for body, mind & spirit, to make the mind fresh, delicate, beautiful, for personality development’‐‐Yoga, an ancient but perfect science deals with the evolution includes of humanity. In the present age of social & mental depreciation, culture club ‘UTTARAN’ has arranged a three days camp for the teachers and students to cultivate the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day to day life and endow skill in the performance of one’s actions.

FOLK MUSIC by SRI BIMAL DEY

. . Students learnt Folk Songs like Jhumur, Saari, Chotka, Vaoaiya, baul.
To inspire the students to preserve, protect and promote all forms of folk songs as elements of the intangible cultural heritage, UTTARAN organized workshop on folk songs.

Indian classical dance & music is always a part of our school activities. To stimulate their concentration and creativity, workshop on Bharatnatyam from 15th to 18th Dec’14 was arranged.

9. BRATACHARI ON THE GROUND OF SPORTS
Dated ‐11.1.2015
The Bratachari is a movement for spiritual and social improvement in 1932. The movement aimed to raise the self-esteem and national awareness of people of undivided India regardless of their religion, caste, sex or age. It was a comprehensive programme of physical, mental, and intellectual culture, based on folk traditions of physical exercise, art, dance, drama, music, singing and social service. The Bratacharis undertake to perform good deeds, strengthen fellowship and develop the mind and body through dance.

11. DECORATION ON SARASWATI PUJA
WITH
PAPER CUTTING AND ALPANA (FLOOR DECORATION)

Basant Panchami or the glorious day of Saraswati Puja is on 24th January in 2015. It is important for the students as it is considered as the Goddess of knowledge, culture, wisdom, sound, music and arts. Members had decorated the school with paper cuttings and alpana on this occasion.

12. CELEBRATION OF REPUBLIC DAY
Dated ‐ 26.01.2015
On 26th January’15, on Republic Day, our members celebrated it with great enthusiasm and joy, through the presentation of March past, patriotic songs, dances and publishing special edition of our wall‐magazine.

13. VISIT TO THE SUAKHAL ENERGY PARK (BANDEL) DATED – 11.2.2015
Suakhal Energy Park, near Bandel, Hooghly, a beautiful picnic spot as well as attractive not only for a museum showing how tidal energy can be generated through the turbines that are placed underwater but also for the models presenting an interesting process of the generation of solar energy and inspiring the people to "save energy save life" through the usage of natural sources. A short trip to the park with colourful flowers and twittering birds, peacocks.
