Mission Statement and Vision
VisionThe Mizzou Alumni Association shall be the pre-eminent resource for the university.
Mission StatementThe Mizzou Alumni Association proudly supports the best interests and traditions of Missouri’s flagship university and its alumni worldwide. Lifelong relationships are the foundation of our support. These relationships are enhanced through advocacy, communication and volunteerism.
3Mizzou Alumni Association
Letter From the Executive Director
MAA Traditions Bring About a Stronger Mizzou Family
Volunteer numbers are booming at your Mizzou Alumni Association. This year, we engaged 1,348 volunteers and now have more than 25 new or redeveloping alumni chapter areas since November 2011. The move to the Southeastern Conference in 2012 was an important factor but not the only one. We honored 36 alumni chapters in September 2012 at our annual Leaders Day Celebration, where volunteer attendance was up by more than 15 percent.
It’s so rewarding to assist alumni who dedicate their time and talent to Mizzou. Alumni chapters, along with our school, college and affinity organizations, are the backbone of alumni engagement. Regional alumni chapters establish Mizzou networks in communities around the world. They raise money for scholarships so students can attend Mizzou, host events and activities that keep alumni connected to Mizzou and welcome new graduates to the area. They also love to get together and watch Tiger sports. Gatherings in such cities as Los Angeles, Chicago or New York City are something to experience.
Starting an alumni chapter or an affinity organization like Marching Mizzou Alumni is easy. Our alumni engagement team is eager to assist groups and individual volunteers. You can find resources on our website or give us a call. We are indebted to our members, alumni and volunteers; it is because of you that we are able to proudly continue our mission of connecting alumni, supporting the university and preserving our great traditions.
For Mizzou,
Todd McCubbin, MEd ‘95Executive Director, Mizzou Alumni Association
