MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN
Dear Friends,
After 2 years of significant growth in our activities collecting unused medicinal products (MNU), 2015 was marked by a consolidation in our position, with growth of +0.4%.It is important to remember that these figures have been achieved during a period of significant decline in the consumption of pharmaceutical products in terms of the number of packs, which is indicative of the awareness among all users of the health system that medication should be used in a rational and reasoned way.In the introduction to our 2014 annual report I set out our objectives for 2015 and I will refer to these objectives as part of the review of that year:• Together with our two supervisory Ministries and all the relevant stakeholders we prepared the re-accreditation of our eco organisation for the period 2016-2021. Thanks to the involvement of all parties this re-accreditation was published on 23 December 2015.•TheCourtofAuditorsdelivereditsfinalreportonCyclamedandits summaryreportonalloftheeco-organisations.Cyclamedwasthe subject of a particularly positive assessment, which highlights the quality and rigour of the management provided by the permanent staff members and the Board of Directors.•TheimplementationofthestrategyinMAYOTTEwasformalisedin April2015.The21pharmaciesonthatislandnowtakeresponsibility forMNUfromthatdistantDOM(OverseasDépartement).•Anewcontainer, withaplasticliningclosedwithadrawstring, was put into operation to hold MNU brought in by patients. •Finally, we significantly expanded our digital communication capabilities and made available an original mobile application, «My Pharmacy cabinet», which will allow each citizen to manage his medicinal products.
2016 is the first year of a new approval period which will run for 6 years, until 2021. As a result of the work done in preparing for this accreditation, some objectives, mainly for the long term, have emerged:•Encourageindividualstoseparatecardboardpackagingandpaper notices so that these can be sorted for recycling.•Improverecyclingbypatientsbyimprovingourcommunicationwith them so that only MNU, and only MNU intended for human use, are brought back to the pharmacy.•MakeCyclamedanincentiveforthepreventionofMNU.•Continue to strengthen the management and monitoring of our eco-organisation and of our providers through the development of monitoring, audit and information activities.•Undertake R&D actions and studies in order to optimise the strategy.•Complete our set-up in the Oversea Communities by becoming established in SAINTPIERRE&MIQUELONand SAINTBARTHELEMY (SAINTMARTINhavingalreadybeenestablishedduring2015).•Exchangepracticesandinformationwithothereco-organisations.
These objectives are thus additional to our standard communication and results objectives and will also require additional human and financial investment which we will have to absorb.Cyclamedisingreatshapeandwillbeabletocopewiththesedemands, demonstrating that it is an eco-organisation of quality and that it is confident it can count on each one of you.

The association, which is approved by the public authorities, is tasked with collecting and processing Unused MedicinalProducts(MNU)intendedforhumanuse, whetheroutofdateornot, whichhavebeenreturnedtopharmacies by patients.UnderthetermsoftheagreementconcludedwiththecompanyAdelphe(asubsidiaryofEco-Emballages),empty packaging for medicinal products is sent for separate sorting for recycling. All French pharmacies are obliged to recover household (MNU) (law no.2007-248, published in the Official Journal on 27 February 2007). Patients should bring back their MNU after their treatment, and following verificationofthecontentsbythepharmacyteam, theseMNUareplacedinCyclamedcartons. In the course of their daily rounds the wholesale distributors collect the full cartons and deposit them in containerslocatedattheirpremises.Oncefull,thesecontainersaretransportedbycarrierstoenergyrecoveryunitswithintheCyclamedpartnercommunity.Awastetrackingslipisissuedandcompletedbythewholesaler,the carrier and the incinerator which includes the tonnage of MNU recovered.Incineration of MNU is the solution that best meets the environmental and public health requirements bearing in mind the nature of the products to be dealt with. It is also required of us in our specification. The 55 units provided and distributed in each of the regions comply with environmental standards and enable energy recovery in the form of heat and/or electricity.Pharmaceutical companies finance all the costs related to the operation of the strategy through their contributionstoCyclamed, whicharecalculatedbasedonthenumberofboxesofmedicinalproductsplacedon the market.AnAdelphe-Cyclamed-Leemtripartiteagreementwassignedtoensureexchangeofinformationinordertoenable producers of medicinal products to contribute to each organisation in proportion to the packaging they collect.AmeetingwasheldonFebruary24toshareallthisinformation.

QUANTITATIVERESULTS
THE OVERALL BALANCE SHEET
In 2015, 15,477 tonnes of waste were collected by French pharmacies and aggregated by the wholesale distributors before energy recovery, or an increase of 0.1% compared to 2014.
To assess the actual tonnage of MNU collected, two elements have been subtracted:-thetonnageoftheCyclamedcartonscontainingtheMNU,-thetonnageofotherwaste(essentiallyparapharmacyproducts).Therefore, the actual tonnage of MNU collected in 2015 was 12,108 tonnes, or a change of +0.4% compared to 2014.By comparing the tonnage of MNU collected, i.e. 12,108 tonnes, with the supply of MNU assessed by the CSA study, i.e. 19,000 tonnes, we arrive at a performance rate of 64%.
