Annual Report (2019-20) Presented at the Annual General Meeting

held on

Sunday 12th July, 2020

I welcome all the Corporate Members to Annual General Meeting 2020

I thank all the Corporate Members for electing the new Executive Committee, for the

period 2020-22. I congratulate the newly elected EC Members.

My sincere gratitude to all my predecessors who brought this Centre to elevated

position right from 1973 to 2020. I thank the present EC members for their total support in

bringing the Hyderabad Centre to present position in all respects.

I take the privilege of presenting the Annual Report for the year 2019-20.

The 39th Annual General Meeting is being held at 10.30 am at IETE Hyderabad

Centre. Prof A Ravi Kumar, Chairman welcomed the Members.

2. 66th

IETE Foundation Day Celebrations: 2nd

November, 2019

Centre celebrated IETE Foundation Day on the theme "The Role of Artificial

Intelligence and Machine Learning in the Development of Society". On this

occasion IETE felicitated the senior IETE Corporate Members. Around 1000

students participated and 150 students won prizes (I, II, III Position) from all ISF

Engineering Colleges. Prof. A Ravi Kumar, Chairman, IETE Hyderabad Centre

presided the Programme.


3. World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 17th

May, 2020

The IETE Hyderabad Center celebrated 52nd World Telecommunication and

Information Society Day on the Theme "Connect 2030 : ICTs for the

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" on 17th May, 2020 as a webinar through

ZOOM Application.

A Talk delivered by Chief Guest Leena S BOKIL, NASA-Honeywell Educator,

Space Advocate, a science enthusiast and a hard-core Science Communicator. The

Centre Chairman Prof A. Ravi Kumar presided over the Program, Rajesh Kumar, Hony.

Secretary, Dr. IV Subba Reddy, Hony. Treasurer coordinated event.

May, 2020

IETE Hyderabad Centre organized Prof. ALLADI PRABHAKAR 3rd Memorial

Lecture on Future Engineers – De-humanizing Aspects of Technologies by Sri

Ramachandru Tejavath, IAS. The event was attended by distinguished members,

B. Academic Development Activities

IETE is recognized by the Govt. of India as Educational Institution of National Eminence.

1. AMIETE :

The AMIETE course is equivalent to BE/B.Tech. (ET/CS/IT). The AMIETE

examination is recognized till 2012 under the Central Government by the Ministry of

Human Resource Development, Union Public Service Commission and several State

Governments, Universities, and Institutions in India and abroad. Due to technical

reasons the AMIETE course is derecognized in 2012 and the issue is in court at New

Delhi.


2. DIPIETE :

The DIPIETE course is recognized as equivalent to Diploma in

Electronics/Computer Science by the Department of Education, Ministry of Human

Resource Development, Govt. of India

AMIETE / DIPIETE (ET/CS) Stream Seminar was conducted for 4 students

AMIETE /DIPIETE(ET/CS) Stream Project Viva-Voce was conducted for 3 students

AMIETE / DIPIETE (ET/CS/IT Streams) Communication Skills and Oral Test was conducted for 1 student

AMIETE / DIPIETE (ET/ CS/IT Streams) practical examinations and viva-voce was conducted for 2 students.

ALCCS/AMIETE/DIPIETE (ET/CS/IT Streams) examinations were conducted.

C. R&D CENTRE :

The IETE has been recognized by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Science and

Technology, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research as a Scientific and

Industrial Research Organization (SIRO). Project guidance was provided to engineering

students. In June 2019, 200 students from 20 Engineering Colleges were guided in B.

Tech Mini Projects. 97 students of Final Year B. Tech and Diploma students from various

Engineering Colleges registered and completed their projects in March, 2020. Resource

persons (guides) have examined, assessed the reports and certified the work. All

necessary lab facilities were provided to the students for smooth conduct of the Project

work.

Due to the pandemic COVID-19 and Lockdown, the scheduled projects were

postponed by the engineering colleges indefinitely.

Keshav Memorial Institute of Technology has organized poster presentation on 27-07-

2019 under IETE Student’s Forum.

All ECE students and faculty members participated. Dr. IV Subba Reddy, Honorary

Treasurer, IETE Hyderabad Centre attended as chief guest.

17thAugust 2019

A Lecture on Machine Learning was held for ECE students on 17th Aug 2019 under

ISF. Sri. Siva Subrahmanyam from Cognizant is the resource person. This was

organized by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, BVRIT

Hyderabad College of Engineering for Women. Sri. Siva Subrahmanyam gave a detail

insight on the basics of Machine Learning. A total of 120 students have attended this

guest lecture.

08thJanuary -2020

IETE Student Forum (ISF) has been inaugurated at ECE/EEE Department, ASHOKA

Institute of Engineering & Technology (AIET) 08th January 2020. Prof. A. Ravi Kumar,

Chairman, IETE Hyderabad Centre was the chief guest and Dr. V. Bhagya Raju, Sub-

Committee Chairman, Membership Drive and ISF Activities, Hyderabad Centre was the

Guest of Honor for the event.

Principal Dr. M. Sreedhar Reddy congratulated the ECE & EEE department for

having started the IETE Students Forum and wished that the forum take-up activities

which improve the student’s capabilities. Dr. Shubham Tayal, ISF Coordinator introduced

the ISF Office Bearers. The membership certificates were distributed to the ISF

members.

3rd February 2020

ECE Dept. Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus inaugurated IETE Student

Forum (ISF) on 03rd Feb 2020. Dr. K Jayasankar, Governing Council Member IETE

attended as Chief Guest and Dr. IV Subba Reddy Honorary Treasurer, IETE Hyderabad

Centre was the Guest of Honor. Dr. V. Bhagya Raju, Sub-Committee Chairman,

ECE Department, CBIT inaugurated IETE Student Forum (ISF) on 14th Feb 2020.

The ISF was inaugurated by Prof. A. Ravi Kumar, Chairman, IETE Hyderabad Centre,

Prof. P. Ravinder Reddy, Principal CBIT, Dr. IV Subba Reddy, Honorary Treasurer,

IETE Hyderabad Centre, Prof. D. Krishna Reddy, HOD of ECE, Faculty ISF

Coordinators Sri. P. Ranjith, Asst Professor and Sri T. Sridher, Asst. Professor along

with Vishwateja, T., Chairman, ISF, CBIT has conducted the inauguration of ISF.

Guest lecture was given by the Prof A Ravi Kumar, Chairman, IETE on “Industry

4.0 – Engineering Opportunities”

The function was attended by Prof. K. Jayashankar, Principal MGIT Governing

Council Member, IETE, ECE department staff and students.

February 2020

Avanthi Group of Colleges have conducted Tech Resonance 2K20 at Integrated

Campus on 19th & 20th February (Thursday) under ISF. On this occasion Sri. Ravi

Chandramouli, Chairman, Southern Region Indian Foundry Men attended as chief guest

and Technical speakers Prof. Prathap Malldi, Sri Giridhar Narsingam have participated.

Mr. Prathap Malladi gave insight of industrial exposure and appreciated the various

projects exhibited in project expo. Sri Giridhar Narsingam has given technical presentation

on mobile applications. In this program Dr. Jayaprada, Director of Avanthi Group of

Colleges, Dr. Shiva Kumar, Dr. Rama Chandra Reddy Principals, B. Srinivas Principal of

Pharmacy college, faculty from various departments and students have participated.

March 2020

IETE has organized a 24 hours HACKATHON on Data Science which witnessed

participation of more than 40 students from 3rd year on 14/03/2020. The event was

conducted with the collaboration of IETE and Brain-o-vision. A six hour bootcamp was

conducted on data science followed by the four-phase hackathon


This was organized by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering

Robotics Powered by ROS - a six day online workshop, organized by GNITS from 25th

to 30th May 2020 in association with IETE H & Smart Bridge. The Workshop was

inaugurated by Prof. A. Ravi Kumar, Chairman IETE Hyderabad, and Dr. B.

Venkateshulu, HOD ECE.

Participants, faculty &students are trained with ROS programming and simulating projects

using Gazibo and Rviz under the guidance of Dr. K. Ramesh Reddy, Principal.

An online Assessment Quiz 2020 Electronic Core Engineering Up Skilling TEST Series

conducted, consisting 3 parts in association with IETE, Hyderabad on 1/06/2020, 6/6/2020,

and 11/06/2020 of 5 days each, covering all the core areas of Electronics and

Communications Engineering along with a few questions to assess the aptitude of the

candidate in part 1 & part2. Whereas part 3 is about EMPLOYABILITY UPSKILLING for

the benefit of students. There is a humongous response, countrywide.

This was organized by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering

GNITS for Women, under the guidance of Dr. K. Ramesh Reddy, Principal.

the Department of ECE in collaboration with IETE Hyderabad and LucidVLSI Pvt. Ltd.

Hyderabad.This was organized by Department of Electronics and Communication

Engineering GNITS for Women. The Webinar was inaugurated by Dr. B.Venkateshulu

HOD of ECE Department on June 3rd 2020.

A webinar on Power Electronics and Control Design is conducted for EEE department

faculty and students by Sri Ramana Reddy, Education Group, MathWorks and IETE, Hyd.,

on 3rd June 2020 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Total 63 members participated in the

webinar.This was organized by Department of Electronics and Communication

Engineering, GNITS for Women.

Flag Hoisting Ceremony:

The Flag Hoisting Ceremony in connection with Independence Day on 15th

August, 2019 was organized at IETE Hyderabad Centre. Prof. A Ravi Kumar, Chairman

hoisted the flag.


On 26th January, 2020 Republic Day was organized at IETE Hyderabad Centre.

Prof A. Ravi Kumar, Chairman hoisted the National flag.

set and all the activities planned for the year have been completed successfully. My
