Greetings Veritas Friends & Family, On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank you for helping to make 2018-19 another outstanding academic year at Veritas Acade-my. Your commitment to our mission, and your contributions of time, resources, and prayers have played an essential role in the growth of our school and education of our children. As a member of the Veritas family, you are part of something much big-ger than preparing our children for college. You are part of a community that is committed to shaping minds AND souls in the image of the cross. Our children are being equipped to think and learn for themselves in an environment that nurtures their soul and strives to impart wisdom – not mere knowledge – as the ultimate goal. Our pursuit of classical, Christian education combined with our condensed day format enables Veritas Academy to provide a unique blend of substantive academics while maximizing the family’s role in shaping our children’s faith and character. Looking ahead, we begin the 2019-20 school year with a total enroll-ment of 193. Of these 193 students, 149 are returning for a retention rate of 87%. We are grateful to God for His provision in bringing new families, new teachers, new staff, and new board members to Veritas Academy this year. We look forward to another exciting school year! Please share what makes our school distinct with others in your commu-nity and church. We pray that through sharing our mission with others, God would be pleased to add to our numbers and bless future genera-tions for His glory. Moreover, please remember Veritas Academy in your prayers. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Col. 3:16-17

Sincerely, Andrea B. Jarrett 2018-2019 Board Chair Veritas Academy Board of Directors

Student Life

The House System The house system consists of four houses: Augustine, Ath-anasius, Aquinas, and Ambrose, for students in Logic and Rhetoric Schools. The house system serves to provide a motivating school environment that promotes student achievement, self-discipline and the building of community across student age groups. This system allows opportunities that encourage student growth through discipleship, leadership, mentoring, competition, service, and camaraderie. Merits, demerits and team points are awarded in various categories. The house with the most points at the end of the year is named House of the Year.

The ERB/CTP (Educational Records Bureau Comprehensive Testing Program) is a trusted and proven rigorous standardized assessment for 1st-11th grade students. The results from this test are considered to be more reliable and comprehensive than other standardized tests (e.g. Stanford, ITBS, and CAT). The ERB/CTP is the preferred test for ACCS schools. 2016-17 was the first year for Veritas to administer the ERB/CTP.
