INTRODUCTION

AICUF-All India Catholic University Federation is a movement of university students

with a vision for a new and just society. Progressing in a history of constant rediscovery

and re-creation. AICUF ever tries to link itself to the emerging needs and realities of the

university, the church and the wider society. AICUF is affiliated to PAX ROMANA-

International Movement of catholic students

AICUF is the Student’s movement. It spread awareness on social issues. AICUF

cultivates leadership quality. AICUF encourages religious harmony and equality among

the student. AICUF fight for the right of Poor, Dalits tribal and Women.

The All India Catholic University Federation is a movement of university students and is

often indicated by the acronym, AICUF. In 1924, this movement was started in St.Joseph's

College, Trichirappalli by Rev Fr Carty SJ. Later it spread its wings all over India and now

it operates in 14 states of India. In TamilNadu it functions in more than 50 colleges.

Aims and Objectives

To enable students to develop a critical awareness and analysis of the Indian and world situation,

to cultivate a deep and genuine concern for the oppressed and marginalized and to effectively

commit themselves to the task of building a new and just society.

To help students evolve spirituality that has humanization as its core, through involvement and

reflection.

To motivate students to become involved in studies, research and activities within the university.

To enable Christian students to play a prophetic role in their communities through a critical

understanding of their faith, drawing inspiration from the Gospels, the Eucharist and their prayer

life.

Members

The membership of AICUF are open to university students who share the ideals of the

movement as enshrined in its constitution. However, every member state has the autonomy

to decide on its own policy regarding membership.

Every member is entitled to participate in all the decision - making activities of the unit.

However, a member can be selected as an office-bearer only on completion of one year in

the AICUF, except in the case of newly formed units.

Structure

AICUF's structure is geared to ensure its mass students movement character. The AICUF

functions at the national, state, regional and unit levels. The state is the primary decision

making body in AICUF. The various states are linked at the national level as members of a

federation.

ORGANIZATION

In the academic year 2015- 2016 our AICUF unit had enrolled 50 members.

Our College is celebrating Mass on first Friday of every month. AICUF members are

extending their support in choir as well as altar decoration

STATE LEVEL LEADERSHIP CAMP

AICUF State Unit has organized a State level Leadership Camp for 3 days from

31/07/2015 to 02/08/2015 at St.Joseph’s College, Tiruchy. Our unit President Christopher

Charles Edwin II BBA, B.Pavithra II BBA R.Berlin I B.Sc, A. Anu Priya II BA English

are participated. State committee conducted an Election, our college student Anu Priya

II BA English elected as a student co-coordinator for State level Dalit-Commission.

STATE LEVEL MEETING

AICUF State Unit has organized a State level Office Bearers Meeting on 4/09/2015 at

Mettupalayam. Our Unit Stat level AICUF Dalit Coordinator A. Anu Priya II BA English

participated in the programme.

INTER RELIGIOUS FAITH PRAYER MEETING

Developers India Trust organized “Inter – Religious Faith Prayer Meeting” for World

Peace and welfare of society at Russian Culture centre on 12 February 2016. Our Aicuf

members Sam Daniel, Syed Mujubur Rehman, Anbu kavidasan, Maria Denisha,

Deenullah sulaiman, Philips Fernandez, Christopher Charles, Pavithra II BBA, Daniel

Abraham Baynes prabhu I BBA, B.M.Aravind Kumar, J.Samuel jabadurai III BBA,
