The objective of this annual report is to give our vision of society from the angle of interculturality, to
show our way of working as a organization with social assistance function. Furthermore present the focus groups and methods chosen to work with them and values that we can contribute by our work, always
with Human Rights-based approach.

MAIN AREAS OF WORK:
Human Rights Education, Intercultural Learning, Youth Participation, Gender Based Violence and social cohesion.
Mobility Office
Mobility Office is responsible for organizing European projects like youth exchanges (in Lorca and abroad), European Voluntary Service, both as sending and hosting organization. Furthermore it provides services in Youth tourism, such as preparation and coordination of travels, excursions for young people. Moreover it is a point of information about scholarships, different educational systems and their validation as well as language courses, work offers abroad (Eurodesk point) and variety of other European Programmes (Comenius, Grundtvig, Erasmus, Eurodisea, Leonardo).

Organizes activities and events focused on social inclusion, intercultural mediation, investigation and research about the situation and needs that come from relation between immigrants and autochthonous, creation of national and international projects with the focus on migration and interculturality, remedial classes for children, intercultural consciousness-raising programs in schools, courses about various immigration aspects for youngsters and youth workers, legal advice for immigrant youth, information service for any other service on behalf of City Council of Lorca.

Radio Impacto is a project designed for young inhabitants of Lorca with an objective to create radio show. Project was prepared in cooperation with two local radio stations - Cadena Ser and Cadena Azul - which prepared workshops for participants and allowed a time slot for radio show of youngsters. The objective of the project was to raise interest of young people about surrounding reality, improve their communication skills by expressing their thoughts and ideas publicly, group working and above all use the method of learning by doing.

Radiografiando Lorca
October 2011 - December 2012
Radiografiando Lorca Project is a continuation of Radio Impacto. This time the objective is to create map of sociocultural resources of Lorca. Participants will have to interview people working for various organizations that are active in above mentioned area. Based on knowledge and experiences gained in the first part they will be responsible for preparing short movie about one issue of major local interes. Through this participants will become more participative citizenships and will have a chance to work on their creative competences.

Programme: Youth in Action
Project aimed to raise awareness on the local diversity and contribute to the mutual understanding and cooperation among community of Lorca in a spirit of respect for human rights. The Human Library is an innovative method designed to promote dialogue, reduce prejudices and encourage understanding. Visitors to a Human Library are given the opportunity to speak informally with “people on loan”; this latter group being extremely varied in age, sex and cultural background.
Objectives: • to develop attitudes and behaviors that will lead to respect for the rights of others; • to promote respect, understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity in order to learn to live in the diverse society and recognize the diversity as an added value to the society; • to promote awareness of Human Rights issues, especially children rights and intercultural understanding; • to celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination; • to develop the curiosity about the multiculturality in Lorca and let the citizens get to know better the community composed of 89 different nationalities living together.
Methods: • Cine Forum – presentation of short films about the Human Rights topics , followed by the discussion, that took place on 18th of March • Workshops for children addressing the theme of racism in the creative, artistic way • Workshops for youth and presentations of break dance, graffiti and clowning during the event of living library • Workshops for youth in the topics of Intercultural learning and antidiscrimination that took place after the event.

Project was taking place during the month of August for children who have stayed in the city. There was a need to organize them, after earthquake, a common place for playing and learning through non-formal education methods . There were different activities offered as well as possibility to practice English.

This one day project had an objective to bring closer the
concept of EVS to young people from Lorca. Participants had a
chance to ask questions, clarify doubts and find out more about EVS. During the day participants met incoming volunteers and got to know their projects and tasks.
Furthermore there was a project's presentation of one Spanish
volunteer who implemented it in Romania. All this using non-formal
education methods.

Project "ALCA" is a collaboration between Cazalla Intercultural and school San Jose de Calasán which has been lasting for last 3 years. The collaboration consists of giving English classes to children and youth who come from families that face social, economical or cultural obstacles. Our EVS volunteers go there twice per week, 2 hours per day, to help kids to do their English homework or teach them English on basis of non formal education, being participative and motivating.

This project has lasted for last 3 years and it's main
objective is to equalize the curricular performance of
children at the level of obligatory education. Brujula project was
financed by Regional Education Ministry of Lorca. The number of
beneficiaries in 2011 was lower due to heavy
national crisis and lack of financial support as in
previous years, which did not allow to hire teachers.
As a results they were substituted by voluntary
teachers.

Bohemian nights is an event where people gather at local pub and read piece of some book or poem. The text must be somehow connected with the keyword of the night, i.e. laugh, love, justice. It is a space where
everyone can share his/her feelings and thoughts. Usually the number of
participants is around 100 and it takes place every 2 months.

Via Experientia
The objective of the project is to develop intercultural competences of health, social, youth and police workers by enriching their knowledge, abilities and attitudes in the field of interculturality. Participants were thought how to work with conflicts of cultural background from 3 basic approaches - prevention, resolution and transformation. They had a chance to practice and improve such social skills as active listening, intercultural communication, assertiveness, critical thinking and empathy.

Leonardo da Vinci Programme consisted of
hosting 5 Italian participants during 3 months periods.
The objective was to show them organization’s way of
working and creating a network which may turn into
further collaboration. Furthermore it was a chance
to exchange knowledge, experienceand ideas for
both - Cazalla Intercultural as hosting organization and for participants who already
had certain experience in NGO field.

Europa Habla – Speak up Europe was the simulation of the European Parliament that has let
young Europeans discover the world of motions, resolutions,
amendments, negotiations, lobbing and European policy making. The
project facilitated their understanding on how the EP functions, especially after the
changes done by the Lisbon Treaty, helped out participants to feel
responsible for the future of the European Union and facilitate the discussion about European issues.

The training aimed to develop participants´ competencies in evaluation of the international volunteering projects. The objectives of this course were: - exchange of the best practices among participants in the evaluation of international volunteering projects, - share different understandings of evaluation and define the final concept - explore different approaches to projects´ evaluation on the international level, - enable participants (in terms of strategy and methods) to run the effective evaluation process which is the integral dimension of international projects.

Project designed for youngsters and youth workers with an objective to rise awareness about gender based violence through very special and attractive method, which is comics. During the project participants had sessions connected with the subject of gender based violence and comics workshops. They had a chance to transform the knowledge gained on trainings into small stories, which later were presented at the local exhibition.

Silk Roads to EVS November 2011 – October 2012
The main objective of this project is to increase youth participation in
European Voluntary Service with Asia-Europe dimension which will serve as
an entry point to address global environment challenge, climate change, poverty alleviation, and marginalization. Furthermore; by
sharing best practices, strengthening their capacity on volunteer
management, networking, stronger bonds among organizations will be
developed

Training course / January 2012 / Lithuania Deepening understanding of European learning mobility opportunities and quality demands; introducing Youthpass as one of the support measures for learners; offering opportunities for participants to develop future learning mobility projects involving young people from inclusion groups. 3. Learning mobility practice phase / February - August 2012 / home countries Supporting participants in developing concrete youth mobility projects using the opportunities of the European Youth in Action Programme and other funding schemes. It is expected that participating organizations will carry on learning mobility projects with young people. 4. Evaluation seminar / Septebmer 2012 / Slovenia Capitalizing on learning outcomes, reviewing the process and results of UNIQUE Year of Learning Ongoing process of reasearch action in order to create tools enabling organisers of European learning mobility to measure the impact of mobility.

The aim of the project is to promote cross-sectorial approach to leaning of young people whilst exploring various support measures for learners. UNIQUE Year of learning has 4 important stages: 1. Partnership building seminar / September 2011 / Spain Developing participants’ knowledge and understanding of Youth in Action mobility opportunities; learning realities of young people in participating countries; getting to know various organisations and their interests; developing possible partneships for youth learning mobility projects.

Learning from violence – European
Voluntary Service
The project "Learning from violence" within YiA Programme, EUROPEAN VOLUNTARY SERVICE, Action 2, is about fighting integration difficulties of recently arrived migrants in Lorca. Cazalla Intercultural is hosting EVS volunteers and offers them different tasks. The volunteer collaboration consists of preparing and offering a wide, varied programme of education and leisure activities for young people who are not integrated in the social life, which will allow them to know other young people in town and break their isolation.
Tasks: The EVS volunteers help in organizing workshops and courses for local community, leisure and educational activities for children and youth, and local projects with the objective of fighting integration difficulties of recently arrived migrants to Lorca. Public attention and support of local immigrants within the Municipalities Offices of Mobility and Youth and Cultural Diversity. Moreover, The volunteers are encouraged to implement their own ideas for projects connected with the theme of the project.

EVS – Sending and coordinationg organization
Cazalla Intercultural works as sending and coordinating organization within frame of Youth in Action Programme. In 2011 we have sent
12 volunteers and provide them with suitable pre-departure training in order to facilitate their participation in the project. This is
a great chance for young people from Lorca of getting to know other countries and languages, ways of working of other societies
and to bring new ideas to the organization.
