Emirates Post Group entered a new phase in 2011, having completed and implemented

a detailed restructuring process, that involved creating a new organizational structure,

setting new grades and preparing a new improved HR manual and laying the foundation

for a strong corporation that is committed to excellence, employee betterment and

customer satisfaction.

The completion of the restructuring process and the subsequent implementation will

help Emirates Post Group and its subsidiaries to focus more dedicatedly on their duties

and responsibilities and raise productivity levels, the ultimate objective of the whole

restructuring exercise. It was a painstaking and lengthy process, but we believe it was

worth it, because we will now begin to enjoy the fruits of our labour.

Our aim is to make Emirates Post Group a model organization driven by innovation and

pursuit of global best practices, as we compete with private sector companies in the field

of mail, parcels and remittances.

I believe public sector companies are now poised for greater achievements. The

development of the public sector is a high priority area for the UAE government and

we are allocating ample resources to upgrade the performance of all government

organizations.

Our mail volumes continue to show steady growth, in sharp contrast to the global

scenario in which postal mail is witnessing a drop. Here in the UAE, mail activity is rising,

an indication of a booming economy and vibrant growth indicators.

Emirates Post Group has started translating into reality our vision of becoming a leading

business group, driven by dynamism and innovation, with a mindset to do profitable

business in a fiercely competitive world.

Chairman of the Board,

Emirates Post Holding Group

Message from the President

The 2011 saw Emirates Post Group consolidating its growth in the face great challenges

brought in by the global recession. The post office network continued to grow and

expand, based on the needs of the expanding population of the UAE.

During the year, we fine-tuned the new P.O. Box bundles according to a new strategic

plan that is focused on taking mail closer to subscribers’ homes. Customers have four P.O.

Box options to choose from: The ‘My Home’ bundle allows residents of villas to have a

box installed on their compound wall, so that mail can be delivered to their doorstep. The

‘My Building’ bundle enables residents of apartments to rent mail boxes in the premises

of their building. ‘My Zone’ delivers post through mail box shelters conveniently located in

residential and commercial areas outside the post offices. Finally, subscribers can opt for

the existing system of P.O. boxes located in post offices.

Emirates Post also overhauled its mail services to the corporate sector, by offering them

greater value addition and more options to choose from, depending on their mail

volumes. With this step, we are proud to say that we have raised the bar on corporate

mail services.

The 25th meeting of the Committee of Heads of GCC postal organisations was hosted

by Emirates Post Group in Abu Dhabi over two days in the presence of delegations and

representatives of all the postal administrations of the GCC and Yemen in addition to

representatives from the Secretariat of the GCC States. The GCC Stamp exhibition held

concurrently was also a huge success.

Emirates continued to add new services at post offices, following the signing of

agreements with organizations such as National Bank of Dubai, Dubai Department of

Economic Development, du, SEWA and FEWA.

Our other three subsidiaries – Empost, Electronics Documents Centre and Wall Street

Exchange Centre – also continued to make good progress in their operations and growth,

following the end of the long restructuring exercise.

At the pace the UAE is growing, Emirates Post Group has great potential to expand and

grow as well as keep pace with technological advances to enrich the customer experience

further.

Introduction

Emirates Post continued to build on its success as one

of the most dynamic postal corporations in the region,

driven by a more challenging strategy of higher growth

in the face of strong competition in the market.

The number of post offices has crossed 110, and new

services are being added on a regular basis, in keeping

with the Emirates Post strategy of making post offices

one-stop shops for postal and non-postal services.

The launch of PO Box Bundles, which give different

options to corporate subscribers to choose the service

that best suits their needs, have helped Emirates Post to

offer great value-additions to corporate customers. The

P.O. Box fees for individuals was kept at the same level,

in order not to burden the common man.

Emirates Post signed agreements with different

organizations to offer their services through the postal

counters. Several new services were added to the postal

bouquet and the number of services keeps growth

almost every month.

Emirates Post continues to strengthen its relations with

the region’s postal organizations by leading or attending

meetings aimed at improving mail and parcel services

between different countries of the region. Similarly,

remittance services among the region’s countries are also

being upgraded.

Emirates Post is also an active member of the GCC postal

group, and plays a leading role in joint GCC stamp

exhibitions which are held in the region and in different

parts of the world.
