FOREWORD

It is hereby informed that Dhopahat Milan Sangha has stepped on its 34th year. From1978 up till now the society has carried out multifaced social activities. The old mud/femewall structure has been replaced by a brick built pucca structure which houses the societiesnew office.

Another very important and good news on behalf of the society is that with the finan-cial help of Govt. of West Bengal’s District Rural Development Cell a residential VocationalTraining Centre measuring about 2300 sft. has been constructed on Dhopahat Milan Sangha’sown land. The Building has been done organise any Seminar, Workshop, Meeting or anyother important event block wise or district wise.

Since 1978 involving various Government, Non-Government and other agencies wehave successfully carriedout various developmental projects and we are still doing the same.We are committed to successfully execute certain projects like Oldage home, Destitute home,Orphanage, Mobile health unit etc.

There are lots of activities in todays world which are yet unknown to us. It is our en-deavour to excavate those activities and implement them for the development and bettermentof the society. Dhopahat Milan Sangha is dedicated towards the development of the back-ward strata of the society.

1.0 LOCATION

How to reach Dhopahat Milan Sangha : From Sealdah Station (South Section )

Dhopahat Milan Sangha is about 65 kms. away from Sealdah South Rly. Station on wayto Lakshmikantapur at Madhabpur station.

* Sealdah Rly. Station to Madhabpur (Raghunathpur) Stapage by Pre-paid taxi .

* Sealdah Rly Station to Madhabpur Station by train.

* Madhapur Rly station to Milan Sangha by Van/Rikshaw/walking.

1.1 AREA OF OPERATION

Mandirbazar Block with 103 Villages, Kulpi Block with 67 Villages and MathurapurBlock with 88 Villages are the Primary area of the Society. The above mentioned villages inthe 3 Blocks are the most backward in the entire district of the south 24 Parganas.

2.0 EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

2.1 MILAN SANGHA PATHAGAR

Milan Sangha Pathagar has operated with the generosity and financial help from DistictLibrary of West Bengal Government. Milan Sangha Pathagar is founded for the demand ofexpanding knowledge and wisdom of rural students / learners. This Pathagar is very essentialfor developing social enviroment and consciousness of knowledge and intellect amongst theliterate, illiterate and school going student. At present the picture of the Pathagar is statedbelow.

Money Kolkata withdrew their financial assistance. Special care and attention is givenforwards the development of children ranging in the age group of 6-14 years. Constructiveteaching is imparted to these children by applying various techniques such as fun and games,music, story telling etc. New methods and techniques are also improviced to provide basichealth and hygene awareness and also regarding awareness on environment. A brief picture ofSishu Bikash Kendra is given below :

3.0 HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT

3.1 HOMEO CHARITABLE DISPENSARY

Homeo Charitable Dispensary of Milan Sangha is conducted by an experienced Doc-tor. Charitable Dispensary of Medicine is functional Six day in a week. The main object of theChaitable dispensary is to provide quality medical treatment to the local population, free ofcost. Different types of disease both acute and chronic are treated and cured by applyinghomeopathy medicines . Detail agenda of dispensary is given below :

* 13713 patients are benefited this year.

* Child, man and women, old, young are benefited.

* B.P.L daily labour, low income people are getting proper/ medical treatment.

3.2 MICRO-NUTRIENT PROGRAMME :

Micro-Nutrient Programme is run mainly among the BPL families to uplift their sta-tus in the Society. Keeping parity with their income status these BPL families are providedbasic food supliments. The details are as follows :

* Multivitamin tablets : 550 pes.

* Vitamin B complex : 600 pes

* Paracitamol : 300 pes.

3.3 SOCIAL MOBILISATION & ADVOCACY

Social mobilisation & advocacy is an essential in our modern life . Milan Sangha want’sa prejudice free society. All the records are given below :

3.4 NATIONAL ENVIRONEMNT AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Dhopahat Milan Sangha Conducted NEAC Programme from November 2011 to Febru-ary 2012 for 4 months in the local area. The programme has been financially supported byMinistry of environment & forest, Govt. of India and sponsored by School of fundamental Re-search and organised by Dhopahat Milan Sangha. The glorious step by Govt. of India for cre-ation of environment awareness among people at school, college level, farmers agro relatedlabourers is very acceptable in present scenario.

The theme sellected during this year was ‘Forests for Sustainable livelihood’. Ourorganisation has been organising each year on this activities successfully. The creation of aware-ness among the students, teachers, farmers, agricultural labourers as well as the adjacentvillages with the following activities in last 4 months are :

4.0 AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT

India is an agricultural country. Man cannot live without agriculture. So scientific farmingis very essential with the help of modern technology. New methods will have to be applied inplace of old system of cultivation. Milan Sangha is trying to develope the farmers with thelatest trends in agriculture.

4.1 AGRICULTURAL FARM

Dhopahat Milan Sangha has been organising the agricultural farm for a long time, Inevery year they serve different types of high productive seeds by the experienced team ofMilan Sangha. In present year a picture of cultivation was as given below :

4.2 ASSISTANCE WITH THE AGRICULTURAL EQUIPMENT OF THE LOCAL FARMERS.

Milan Sangha does good to farmers by providing machinery tools. Milan Sangha hassupplied some appartus to many peasants and terminal peasants for economic development.Returnable appartus like pumpset machine, delivery pipes, spray machine, spade etc. are pro-vided to farmers. All peasants get the advantage.

5.0 INTEGRATED RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME FOR SOCIO-ECONOMIC UP- GRADATION OF MARGINALISED PEOPLE THROUGH SUSTAINABLE INCOME GENERATION PROGRAMME UNDER-PC

5.1 MUSHROOM CULTIVATION.

Mushroom Cultivation has been started since 2009, by financial assistance of CAPART,Govt. of India, At first we selected eighty women from different village in view of spreading inthe process of Mushroom cultivation. Then we arranged a complete training programme forthem. After training we took loan of Rupees two lakhs in the name of Milan Sangha from Cen-tral Bank of India, Raghunathpur Branch. We distributed it equally among all of them. Theyconcentrated for Mushroom cultivation and gradually they paid their loan. Now they are selfdepended So, we can say mushroom cultivation is a very profitable business.

6.0 MICRO-CREDIT DIVISION

6.1 SELF HELP GROUP

Small Savings in too essential for every men & women. Small savings is beneficent forevery family. Exactly that is why Milan Sangha has made a small savings programme with thedifferent classes of women. Milan Sangha to develope these women. It has extended a wholehearted participation wants among the village women. The brief Profile regarding the stated below :

8.0 TRAINING PROGRAMME

Dhopahat Milan Sangha have organised a different types of training in every year in thepurpose of development of self confidence of young men and women. Literate and neo-liter-ate young men and women have been given training of earning trade. There is an efficienttrainer (Instructor) arrangement on different aspects. They conduct training visits all the yearround. When they have completed their training, they have to assess. Hence, they have to givemany information. 14.0 MISCELLANEOUS PROGRAMME

14.1 ANNUAL CELEBRATION AND EXHIBITION

The 33rd Annual Celebration and exhibition had been celebrated on 28th to 29th Janu-ary in the year 2012. Meeting, seminar, symposium, debate, drama, dance and various gamesand sports had been organised there. Hence, It has been displaying with cultivation shows,handicraft shows and needle shows.
