The Executive Committee has pleasure in presenting its 22nd Annual Report on the Activitiesof the Association for the Advancement of the Deprived (AAD) for the year ended on March 31, 2011.

The 21st Annual General Meeting of the AAD was held on July 31, 2011 at Flat No. 601, DDA Building, District Center, Laxmi Nagar, Delhi 110 0092 and following members were present:

Election for the 22nd Executive Committee was held on July 31, 2011 at AGM and the following were elected unanimously in accordance with the provisions of the Rules and Regulations of the AAD.

A Speech Competition for School Students on “Can Lokpal Bill rid India of corruption” And PowerPoint presentation for Teachers on “Skilled Manpower Shortage in India- Role of Vocational Studies in Schools” was organized on August 5, 2011 at Gandhi Peace Foundation, ITO, New Delhi. This event was sponsored by Kansas State University USA- India Office.

school children about legal safeguards against corruption and to explore ways to curb the menace of corruption in society. As such, we believe that if each one of us changes our own habits, we will be attacking corruption at its roots, and corruption will cease to exist.

Mrs. Sunita, AAD, gave the Welcome Address and encouraged all students; spoke on significance of “Can Lokpal bill rid India of corruption. She also spoke about the career options at Kansas State University –USA at the bachelor’s ,Masters level. The Event was Organized by A s s o c i a t i o n f o r t h e Advancement of the Deprived and sponsored by Kansas State

University- USA, India Office.

The Judges Dr. Kavitha Reddy, M a n a g i n g D i r e c t o r o f Nutritech Consulting Services Pvt. Ltd., Mrs. Chetna Sabharwal, Teacher and Counselor of Ahlcon International School & Mrs. Padmaja, Teacher of Andhra Society addressed the audience on key role of Can Lokpal bill rid India of corruption.

A total of 70 Students and teachers participated in the event.

Kansas Momentous, brochures and pens was distributed among students & teachers by Kansas State University.

The teacher participants gave worth listening presentation on Skilled Manpower Shortage in India- Role of Vocational Studies in Schools.

Mrs. Rashmi Kathuria, Teacher, Kulachi Hansraj Model School,

gave very interactive Power Point Presentation emphasized the Role of Vocational Studies in Schools and informed the audience about ‘India is suffering from a real shortage of skilled

manpower’.

Mrs. Chetna Sabharwal , Ahlcon International School giving away the awards to the winners of the the competition for their oustanding performance.

Total numbers of students receiving awards were 12 out of which 3 received consolation

awards and 2 received Encouragement awards.

The 21st Annual Function – SAMARPAN 2011 was organized on August 28, 2011 at Hindi Bhawan, Vishnu Digamber Marg, Near Bal Bhawan, ITO, New Delhi - 110002. About 500 students from different parts of Delhi/NCR participated.

With the objective to recognize contribution of Educationists and or Social workers who have been serving the community for the cause of better education with their unflinching efforts and dedication; AAD with due respect honours these personalities with its prestigious honour “AAD AWARD” and “AAD APPREICIATION AWARD”. This is our endeavor to record dedicated continuous support and work of our educationists / donors / advisors / contributors. Since its inception, AAD time-to-time teaching / support staff of various schools helps in organization of various educational activities of the AAD. Their timely and dedicated support to the AAD will be remembered. As such, all the members of AAD feel proud in honouring such personalities.

Cooperation from other OrganizationThe Executive Committee wishes to place on records appreciation of the cooperation received from different schools, donors, advisors, advertisers who have helped in organizing the activities of the AAD.

The work of the AAD continues to receive recognition as an all Delhi Institution engaged in working for upliftment of the deprived students. This was possible due to cohesive functioning of the AAD and with fullest cooperation of members of AAD and timely guidance and cooperation from our advisors.
