Technology Communication, Govt of India. “SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

COMMUNICATION THROUGH PUPPETRY” (27th April – 5

th May 2018).

The theory classes of IInd year and IIIrd year started on 16th July and

During the entire session various departments have organized Essay

writing and Debate competitions in which large number of students

have participated.

The college provides free internet access to all the students through

Wi-Fi.

The attendance of All the faculties and staff members done through

Biometric attendance method.

The library was updated with hundreds of new books. The Facility of

online library is provided and catalogue of books were available

online. INFILBINET access is provided free of cost to all faculties and

students to access thousands of books and journals.

The labs of all the departments were updated with latest equipments

and manuals.

Many articles and research papers were published by faculties in

reputed national and international journals.

Both the Journals “VIMARSH” and “MANVIKI” were running

successfully.

The college is running two free certificate course “Jeevan Mulya and

Hamare Mahapurush” which is compulsory for B Ed students and

optional for other students.

Pre University Examinations were successfully conducted in the

college in the month of February.

Student Union was constituted as per already constituted ordinance

and amended time to time.

If there is birth or death anniversary of any great Indian Leader or

any eminent personality or something very important happened on that

day , then a lecture was delivered by a faculty on that subject after

prayer.

To inculcate the habit of cleanliness and eradicate the evils of small

work among students, swaichik shram program was organized by NSS

on each Saturday.

All the teachers take their own feedback from their students and try to

incorporate any constructive suggestion made by students in their

personality as well as teaching methods.

The aim of self evaluation form is self development of teachers.

All the faculties of college adopt five students and look after the

development of their entire personality as well as academic aspect and

try to make them a good citizen of our country.

Social awareness campaign was organized in 29 villages which

were already adopted by various departments on four days in the

whole year. Around 50 faculties and 500 students were involved in this

campaign. Various topics such as Importance of Education,

sanitation, Health and cleanliness were discussed among villagers

during the campaign.

The website was updated on daily basis by latest happening in the

college.

Emphasis was placed on use of ICT in teaching by faculties. New

projectors were installed in various classrooms and free Wi-Fi Facility

was provided to teachers and students in the campus.

The working of office was made transparent and emaphasis was

placed on doing the work of students and teachers in least possible

time.

A dispensary is running in college in which Doctor from Guru

Gorakhnath Hospital gives consultancy and medicines to all the

students, faculties and poor people living around adjoining areas of

college. Free medicines were also provided to the patients who come

there for treatment.

A heavy duty generator set was installed in the campus for

inuniterrupted power supply.

The recommendations of the IQAC was enough for the motivation of the authority to equip the

college infrastructure with new LCD projectors in class rooms, Free Wi-Fi access to all faculties and

For the continuous and comprehensive evaluation of the students different patterns like

To keep faculties updated with the latest trends and increases their reading ability library visit is

encouraged for the faculty members every day.

The students also visit the library regularly. They are benefited by the information which they get

by reading the course books, Reference books, Journals, Magazine and News papers.

Departmental tests are taken on monthly basis, copies are evaluated, shown to students and

instructions are given on individual basis by concern teacher.

Excursion tours and laboratory visits are organized.

Students are also regularly provided with lab manual of the experiments beforehand in some

The Department of Physics adopted a novel method of teaching by use of simulators in teaching

In the Pre University Examinations , special emphasis are being made to train the

Students on how to fill the P-7, P-1 proforma and OMR sheets .

Monthly evaluation test are conducted

Paper presentations and seminars are also encouraged

Continuous evaluation is carried out throughout the semester through regular tests,

objective tests, projects, presentations, quizzes etc.

In the end of session a Pre University Examination is being conducted on the same

pattern of University Examination.

The Question paper of this Pre University Examination is being prepared by

Faculties after critical evaluation of previous year question papers of University

examination.

The students gets exposure to main examination through this pre university

2.12 How does IQAC Contribute/Monitor/Evaluate the Teaching & Learning processes :

The IQAC plays a significant role in creating conducive teaching learning environment in the college.

IQAC in its meeting with faculty member, in the beginning of session, advises them to convene

Annual Plan Meeting , assign syllabus to the departmental teachers, prepare time schedule for

lesion plan, necessary activities for effective learning, term tests & to convene term review

meetings.

Meetings with the HOD‟s and department In charges are held to discuss problems, find solutions

and to take suggestions for improvement in teaching learning process.

The committee members monitor the teaching learning process by constantly remaining touch


with the teachers and the students. They keep seeking feedbacks from the teachers regarding

their teaching methods and the syllabus. They also take students feedback about their respective

teachers.

Faculty members are encouraged to attend workshops and seminars related to methods of

teaching and evaluation to keep them updated with the best teaching practices.

Plantation program was organized by NSS on 4th July in which local MLA also participated

Social awareness campaign was organized in 29 villages which were already adopted by

various departments on four days in the whole year. Around 50 faculties and 500 students

Health and cleanliness were discussed among villagers during the campaign.

One day camp was organized by NSS on 4th February 2018. Various topics such health ,

Education and cleanliness were discussed among volunteers and students.

A dispensary is running the college which equipped with all medical equipments and a

Doctor from Gorakhnath Hospital is available on every Wednesday to look after the patients

coming from nearby areas. The consultancy and medicines were provided free of cost to the

needy one’s.

A free computer course is running in the college. Students from nearby areas attend the

course and after completion of course they get certification from the college.

IQAC initiated a novel approach to develop personality of students focussing from

schemes like Adopted students, those common with NSS, class representative or

resident of hostel have performed impact on awareness creation as regards students

All the faculties of college adopt five students and look after the development of their entire

personality as well as academic aspect and try to make them a good citizen of our country.

Students participation is encouraged in different committees formed for running various

administrative and extracurricular activities in college. The practice gives students a platform to

take part in college activities and gain self confidenece. This also makes them able to take

decision under various practical situations which they face in actual situations of life.

Emphasis was placed on use of ICT in teaching by faculties and students. New projectors were

installed in various classrooms and free Wi-Fi Facility was provided to teachers and students in

the campus.

The College conducts a Green Audit of its stupendous campus.

The green campus of the college has around 500 trees of different varieties like shrubs and perennial

plants. Many trees have been labeled with their names also.

The College is maintaining lush green lawns and medicinal herbs in the campus.

Over a hundred flower pots are being maintained regularly.

Massive plantation drive is carried out during every rainy season, on Independence Day and at other

occasions with the help of N.S.S. volunteers.

Gardeners (Maali‟s) are appointed to look after the plants and gardens. This practice helps in

reducing carbon emission in the environment generated through gaseous and other pollutants.

To generate environmental awareness among the students, the institute fully utilizes the classes on

FEEDBACK 1. In the monthly teachers meeting and annual teacher meeting with external experts and in the meeting

of students suggestion emerge to add or delete or redesigning of syllabus of the subjects for

supplementary topics.

2. Feedback from students about teacher on prescribed Performa taken twice in a year by principal

directly and confidentially issues noted are discussed with teacher to improve teaching quality and

teacher taught relationship.

3. Teacher deposits self-assessment report at the end of last month. This act as feedback of teaching

and learning.

4. The college conduct external academic audit of the classes and the departments by external experts

from affiliating university once in academic year. Reports are received and reviewed by the principal to

improve teaching quality.

5. Students and Teachers of the department visit the village for extension activities and brings back.

6. College has registered alumni association which meets on 20 October and 26 Jan The suggestion and

BEST PRACTICE I

(1) Title of the Practice: Collective Personality development scheme.

(2) Goal: The main aim of this scheme is to make students a good human being, having sound moral

character and filled with nationalistic approach towards our country.


(3) The Context: Moral values are the good values that our taught to us by our parents and teachers.

These include being honest and kind, showing respect towards others, extending help to those in need,

being faithful to others and cooperating with others to name a few. Imbibing good moral values make a

person a good human being. A person who sticks to his moral values is said to bear a good character.

There is a curriculum to enhance the knowledge from primary to higher education, but sadly there is no

space for development of character and moral of students. Whilst this is our firm commitment that

students should have Moral values such as compassion, generosity, honesty, kindness, integrity,

politeness, perseverance, self control and respect. Individuals who possess these qualities are considered

to be an asset to the society

(4) The Practice: In the beginning of the session each student requires to adopt four students on his/her

own choice and one student is required to be adopted as per name given by Principal. After this, each

teacher makes a complete record of all the adopted students which includes complete bio-data, academic

records, family background and photograph etc. The teacher develops a harmonious relation with the

adopted student which in turns builds a confidence on teachers in students. In this session it was also

decided that an adopted student should also be either a member of NSS, a student representative or

residing in college hostel. The reason behind this step is that the student must be simultaneously acted by

these three to develop to their academic as well personality. Once adopted by a teacher he/she should

remain adopted by same teacher till course completion. Generally if there is any seat vacant with any

teacher then it should be filled by student of first year.

(5) Evidence of success: Regular counselling session has been provided to the adopted students by

concerned faculties. After this scheme is being implemented it is observed that most of the students who

were adopted by concerned faculties have developed their personality to a considerable level. The

academic output of these students has seen to be improved, which is evident after observation of their

results.

(6) Problems encountered and Resources required:- In the first year of its inception, the scheme didn’t

gave much output and it was limited to paper work and preparation of records. But after that the scheme

developed a pace and now it is fruit results. The only resource required is the zeal of the teachers to

develop the personality of students and upgrade their academic standards.

BEST PRACTICE II

(1) Title of the Practice: The student’s participation in various committees.

(2) Goal : The goals of students participation in various committees is that it should inculcate self-

confidence, administrative capability and leadership quality among students. The basic theme is that, it

will develop a platform for participation of students in development of the college. Int return it will

provide all round development of students which includes personaility, confidence as well as academic

aspects

(3) The Context : The main objective of inclusion of students in various committees is to give the

students a chance to participate in the whole administration and functioning of the college . The youth

power could be utilised in the overall development of the college along with their multi faced personality

development.

(4) The Practice:- In the beginning of the session , in yearly planning meeting various committees were

formed under the supervision of the Principal and faculty in charge of each of these committees were

decided and finalized. When the faculty in charge were decided, he forms the committees which consist

of students from various classes and gender. The students were selected in such a way that sufficient

number of students from different domains gets proper representations in each of these committees. After

the formation of the committees each of these students were assigned duties and responsibilities

according their interest and capability. The students also try to make the best effort and do the best for the

work which he was assigned. The faculty in charge were continuously in touch with the students and

guide them in accomplishing the tasks which were assigned to them.

(5) Evidence of success:- It was observed that all those students who were active members of these

committees gets more depth understanding of functioning of affairs and various activities taking place in

college. The sense of feeling importance develops in them, as they do certain constructive and useful

work. After leaving the college they find more success in doing jobs in various government and non

government organizations. There communication skills, personality and confidence also rise above their

previous standards, when they were not the members of these committees.

Physics Department

1. Full coverage of Practical syllabus: - The department this year plans to cover all the practical’s listed

in University syllabus irrespective of minimum number of recommended practical’s prescribed by

University for final Examinations.

2. Visit to village: - The department plans to organize visit of students and faculties in nearby village with

the aim to acquaint the students with life and socio economic conditions of people living in villages of our

country. The visit will be organized on the following months:-

3. Feedback from students: - The department this year plans to feedback from students, two times in

the current academic session. The feedback will be taken on prescribed format available with the

department.

4. Remedial Classes for students:- The department will organize remedial classes after Pre University

Examinations in the month of February with the aim of clearing doubts and difficulties of students and

preparing them for final Examinations.

5. Students Adoption by Faculties:- All the faculty members of the department will adopt 5 students

and look after their overall academic and personality development aspect of students. They will play the

role of parents and help the students excel in moral as well professional field.

6. PPT Classes:-The department this year plans to take at least 5 classes of each paper on projector

this year. The faculty member in this way tries to incorporate maximum number of classes on projector.

7. Class Teaching: - After every Vth class the students will be given chance to present their lecture in

front of students of class. The main objective of this methodology of teaching is to make students self

confident and make them able to put their views in front of other people.

8. Monthly Evaluation:-The department plans to take monthly evaluation of students in last week of

every month. The aim of monthly evaluation is to help the students grasp the concepts taught during the

month and perform better in their final Examinations.

9. Department level Technical Paper Comptetion on 15th December 2018:- The objective of the

comptetion are to challenge students to demonstrate superior presentation skills, present their research,

and offer an opportunity for students to interact within their community at an early stage in their career.

10. Poster making comptetion on 12th January 2019 :- Poster making contest aims for the students’

to use their knowledge, understanding and awareness in creating their visuals (posters) to raise other

students or people’s knowledge, understanding and awareness about the significant theme, topic or

question whenever and wherever they go.
