Criterion VII

7.2 Best Practice 1:

Title of the practice : Exit Meet

The Context that required the initiation of the practice:

IQAC of the college has proposed to have an exit meet for the student of final year in order to

understand the quality level of the students on par with other institutions.

Objectives of the practice :

Primary objective is to meet our strategic goals particularly those associated with the Core

curriculum and our concentration requirement. Other objectives include

To analyze the overall experience and quality of the students in the final year

Their performance and response in this meet is likely to determine their attainment level,

employability skill etc.,

They may give feedback on the teaching standards and will be able to suggest remedial

measures.

The Practices:

Internal Qualities Assurance Cell (IQAC) help assess the standard of education through student

in final year and is mandatory for every student in final year to have exit meet. The meet is

properly framed for a week at the end of the sixth semester such that 2-3 classes is assigned each

day and two members from IQAC will conduct the meet individually for the students.

Discussion type of meeting technique is adopted where few standard questions too are asked to

the students.

Obstacles faced if any and strategies adopted to overcome them :

Online storage and retrieval facility of data and report of discussion.

Impact of the practice:

Outcome of the assessment is the analyzing the collected evidence that indicates the extent to

which the course and training provided achieves its intention. The summary results of the exit

meet will be shared with the peer group of the institution to help them devise techniques to plug

the gaps. There are few reports indicating lack of requisite skills expected, which were taken into

account for future corrections and planning.

Resources required :

To identify suitable external auditors.

Evidence of success:

Sharing of information regarding teaching methodology, skill development programs etc., helped

us to streamline academic functions and standardize practices.
