IV. Employment 05/2003 - now -Name: National FoodAdministration (Office of theMinistry of Agriculture)-Location: Uppsala, Sweden-Type: public

Like the GMO-Panel give a scientific risk assessment on applicationsto market GMO, that is instrumental for the commission in takingfurther decisions on that particular GMO together with Member States,I am by risk managers at the National Food Administration asked togive a scientific risk/safety assessment on applications to market theseGMO in Sweden. The risk managers at a different unit of the NationalFood Administration subsequently use this opinion and incorporateother legetimate factors when formulating a global suggestion for thatGMO for Sweden. This suggestion is then handled and modified byresponsible risk managers at the Ministry of Agriculture, and possiblyother ministries. I neither have influence on the texts written by riskmanagers at the National Food Administration nor at the Ministries. Ina similar way I give scientific opinions on risks related to naturaltoxicants in foods (and possibly feeds).
