Sample questions to consider: • Why do you want to be a delegate? What

might challenge you in being a faithful witness of Jesus Christ while serving as a delegate?

• What does the term “an inclusive Church” mean to you? How have you worked toward making this annual conference more inclusive of women and people of color in leadership?

• PROCESS/INFORMATION• How were delegates from local churches (who are members

of the annual conference) informed of the nomination/election process?

• Do all members have a copy of the nomination/election process? ____Yes ____No. When was information on the process made available to all members? ________________________________

• Is the nomination/election process consistent with the Book of Discipline (Paragraphs 34-36)? ____Yes ____No



• Do member know how many seats are available? ____Yes ____No

• Do members know how the head of a delegation is chosen? ____Yes ____No



Questions for analysis:• What is the comparison between those who are eligible to

run for delegate and those who are actually running for delegate?

• What factors may hinder a person from choosing to place their name for election?

• Can there be any solutions to those barriers?
