Congratulations! Congrats to our men's softball team for being the Hurricane League and Tournament CHAMPS for the 3rd year in a row! They finished the season with an overall record of 26-3 and we are praying for a win at the upcoming Morehead tournament! Way to represent! UPCOMING EVENTS Guest Musician – Sun, 8/16 Jazz Saxophone player, Scott Snyder, from Cincinnati, OH will join us in worship on Sunday, August 16th. It will be a great time of worship! Pizza with the Pastors – Sun, 8/16 If you are new to TVCOG or have never attended a newcomer lunch, please take this opportunity to join us for lunch in the student center on August 16th immediately following 2nd service and allow us to get to know you better. Please mark your blue card if you would like to attend. Newborn Care Class – Sun, 8/16 Jessica Haas, NICU nurse, will be leading a newborn care class in the green room on August 16th from 5:30-7:30PM. Please spread the word and mark your blue card if you are interested. Manly Meal – Tue, 8/18 On the 3rd Tuesday of each month TVCOG men meet at various restaurants around the area to share a meal and fellowship. This month they will be meeting at Buffalo Wild Wings in Barboursville at noon. All men are welcome. Young at Heart – Wed, 8/19 Please join us for our monthly luncheon on August 19th at noon in the church fellowship hall. Please bring a dish to share. Then on Wednesday, August 26th at 2:30pm we will be going to Genesis Point at 590 N. Poplar Fork Rd to visit with Nancy Green. We will be meeting in the cafeteria.

Christian Women’s Connection– 8/21-8/22 We are having an overnight gathering at Rippling Waters on Friday and Saturday, August 21st & 22nd. This is open to any lady that would like to attend and there is no cost. Please mark your blue card. Lunch on Friday is at your own expense but dinner, breakfast and snacks will be provided. WV Power Make Up Baseball Game – Sun, 8/23 Our Father’s Day outing was rained out in June but it has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 23rd at 2:05PM. If you already paid for tickets you are all set. We have 3 tickets remaining so if you are interested, please mark your blue card and place $6.50 per ticket in the offering marked “WV Power Game”. New “Experiencing God” Bible Study – Sun, 8/23 Judy Combs will be leading this new Bible study in her home beginning August 23rd at 6PM. Please mark your blue card if you are interested in joining this fun group and digging into the Word. Unity Service – Sun 8/30 Join sister congregations for a Gospel Sing on Sunday night, August 30 at Scary Creek Church of God. The service is at 6:00 p.m. Baby Food Making Class – Sun, 8/30 Heartbeat of the Valley will be holding a class to make baby food from 5:30pm-7:30pm on Sunday August 30th in the fellowship hall downstairs. Mark your blue card if you are interested. Voices of Praise Choir Resumes! – Sun, 8/30 Persons 6th grade and up are invited to participate in our adult choir. Practice resumes on Sunday, August 30th at 4PM and will meet in the youth garage. Mark your blue card if you are interested in joining this season! New Fall GriefShare Session – Tuesday 9/1 Michele Ball will be leading a new GriefShare class beginning Tuesday, September 1st at 10:00AM. If you or someone you know is struggling with grief after the loss of a loved one, this is a good place to start on the road to healing. Mark your blue card if you are interested. Camp Fest 2015! – Fri, 9/4 We are having a campout at the Acres on September 4th. We will supply the space and the s’mores and you bring the rest! Campers are responsible for their own food and supplies. Tents or campers are welcome! There will be various activities planned or you can just sit and hang out with family. Mark your blue card if you would like to participate. Men’s Canaan Valley Golf Trip –9/17- 9/20 Open to all men 18 and over. Cost for 3 nights and golf is $270 per person and there is a reduced rate for those only staying 2 nights and returning on Saturday. Men’s Ox Roast in Marengo, Ohio – Sept 11th & 12th All men are invited to attend the Men’s Ox Roast at the Church of God Ohio Retreat Center just north of Columbus, Ohio on September 11th and 12th. Student/Parent Orientation – Tue, 8/11 All new and returning students and their parents are invited to Orientation night August 11th at 7PM in the Student Center. Back To School Bash – Wed, 9/2 Come celebrate the beginning of a new school year with friends, food and fun in the Student Center! Car Detailing Youth Fund Raiser – 8/22 Vehicle cleaning is by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling the church office (304) 757-9222 and will be 8AM-4PM. Appointments must be made no later than Wednesday, August 19th. All donations go to support student trips such as State Youth Convention, Spring Fling, Camp and International Youth Convention. Cost: • Silver Package: $25 (donation) = Wash/Wax and hand-dry • Gold Package: $50 (donation) = Wash/Wax, hand-dry, trash removal,

vacuuming and dusting/detailing. • Platinum Package: $100 (donation) = Wash/Wax, hand-dry, trash removal, vacuuming, dusting, upholstery and carpet steam cleaning. (Platinum package includes to-your-door free pick-up and delivery of your vehicle, if desired)  3SLI (Tri-Level Student Leadership Institute) Conference—9/25-9/27 College Scholarship Opportunity! This year's 3SLI Conference will be held at the Holiday Inn and Suites in Cincinnati, OH on September 25th-27th. Students who complete three years of 3SLI tracks can receive $1500 in scholarships to Church of God colleges and universities. Cost for TVCOG Student Leaders is $65. All other students are welcome to attend with the cost being $130 + 4 meals. Sign-up forms available at the youth booth in the East Lobby. Registration due by Aug. 26th. Forms received after this date will be subject to a $25 additional charge.
