Announcements for October 20, 2019 ADULT EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES SUNDAY Adult Bible Class This class, taught by the pastors, meets at 9:15 a.m. in the AFLC gym. The current study is on the book of Malachi. The 101 Class: "Discovering the Lutheran Faith" This class, taught by the pastors, is for those who are interested in learning more about the Lutheran Church, Epiphany in particular and is required for those desiring membership at Epiphany. It is held on Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. in room 203 of the AFLC. The 201 Class: The Lutheran Difference: Daily Prayer We look at the Lord's Prayer to engage God's holiness, provision, forgiveness and protection in prayer. This class meets on Sunday in room 202 of the AFLC at 9:15 a.m. Contact Kevin Ayres, Jeff West or Rick Wolff for more information. This class meets every Monday at 9:30 a.m. in room 203 of the AFLC. A new class, Gideon: Your Weakness. Gods Strength. by Priscilla Shirer begins on Monday, October 21. TUESDAY Tuesday Afternoon Bible Study This study, open to men and women, meets from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday in room 202 of the AFLC. The current study is Max Lucados Life Lessons from Romans. Contact Saul Pontifes for more information. THURSDAY LifeLight Bible Study This class meets weekly on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. in room 203 of the AFLC. The current study is on the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. FRIDAY Mens Bible Study Group This class meets at 5:30 a.m. on various Friday mornings (check the weekly schedule) in the main building kitchen. The current study is called Paul: A Biography by N.T. Wright. SATURDAY Men's Bible Breakfast The men of Epiphany meet on the second Saturday of the month in the gym at 7:30 a.m. for Bible Study, breakfast and fellowship. The Christmas Parade float team is in need of your help! We are requesting a gas generator for this year s Pearland Christmas Parade. The parade will be on December 7 at 6:00 p.m. but the team will need the generator a few weeks prior to the parade. Please contact Pastor Nathan at [email protected] or John Hartman to coordinate the equipment. USHERING OPPORTUNITIES Do you have the vocation to usher? Do you have a desire to serve others by helping them in worship service? Serve one Sunday a month. We have shortages at all three services. Please contact Jeff Hartwig if you can help.

LADIES' BIBLE STUDY — The Ladies’ Bible Study is open to women of all ages; it’s a chance to gather together in fellowship and friendship. This class meets every Monday at 9:30 a.m. in room 203 of the AFLC. A new class, Gideon: Your Weakness. God’s Strength. by Priscilla Shirer begins on Monday, October 21. MISSIONARIES DESPERATELY WANTED! — You can be a missionary without saying a word when you participate in Bible Marking. We spread the gospel message by marking scripture verses that lead the way to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. The marked Bibles are donated to LINC and other ministries. The Bible Marking group meets the first and the third Monday of every month in room 207 of the AFLC from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. The Bible marking process is very simple so come join us Monday, October 21 and enjoy the fellowship. If you have any questions, please contact Karen Daugherty. TO ALL LADIES OF EPIPHANY! — The monthly meeting of the LWML/Women of Epiphany will be this Saturday, October 26 in room 203 of the AFLC. All women are invited to join us at 9:30 a.m. for brunch and fellowship. A Bible Study and meeting will follow at 10:00 a.m. Come and see how this group, through the study of God’s Word, is reaching out to spread the Good News of Christ to others. Babysitting is available but we need to know by the Wednesday before the meeting; contact Tammy Earley. ANNUAL BUDGET FORUM & LUNCH — The Budget Forum & Lunch will take place Sunday, October 27 in the AFLC Gym after the late services. Learn about the proposed budget for 2020. This budget will affect all of Epiphany’s ministries and the finances of our church in the coming year. This is the time for all members to ask questions and to voice their concerns about the proposed budget. LSA TRUNK OR TREAT — Lutheran South Academy invites you to join them for a fun, family-friendly, Trunk Or Treat event at LSA, 12555 Ryewater Drive in Houston Sunday, October 27 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. All students grade 8 and under are welcome to attend and trick or treat. Invite your neighbors and friends to come along for this fun and festive community event. All students in attendance must be accompanied by an adult. This event will be spooktacular and you will not want to miss out! FALL LANDSCAPING DAY — On Saturday, November 2 from 8:00 a.m. - noon there will be a workday to help prepare the church grounds for Pastor Jon’s favorite day of the year, Christmas. We will be pruning trees, removing dead bushes and generally cleaning up the landscaping of the church. This is in preparation for Light Fest which is a major outreach event for Epiphany. GLOCAL MISSION GALA ONE MORE — We are extremely excited to announce this year’s Glocal Mission Gala. Together we will celebrate all that God has done and enjoy a wonderful dinner to benefit one more soul, one more disciple-maker, one more church and one more nation for the sake of the Gospel. Please pray about joining us on Saturday, November 2 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 1353 Witte Road in Houston as we celebrate and support Glocal Mission! ALL SAINTS’ DAY, SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3 — During all three services on All Saints’ Day, Sunday, November 3 a bell will toll for each loved one who has gone to be with our Lord during the past year. Please call the church office at 281-485-7833 or email [email protected] no later than Monday, October 28 and let us know of any family members who have died in the faith since last November that you would like to have remembered on All Saints’ Day.
