ADULT EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES SUNDAY Adult Bible Class — This class, taught by the pastors, meets at 9:15 a.m. The current study is: Encounters With Jesus. This class will meet in the sanctuary this Sunday! The 101 Class: "Discovering the Lutheran Faith" — This class, taught by the pastors, is for those who are interested in learning more about the Lutheran Church, Epiphany in particular and is required for those desiring membership at Epiphany. It is held on Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. in room 202 of the AFLC. The next class will begin on September 8, 2019! The 201 Class: The Lutheran Difference: Daily Prayer — We look at the Lord's Prayer to engage God's holiness, provision, forgiveness and protection in prayer. This class meets on Sunday in room 207 of the AFLC at 9:15 a.m. Contact Kevin Ayres, Jeff West or Rick Wolff for more information. MONDAY Ladies' Bible Study — This Bible Study is open to women of all ages; it’s a chance to gather together in fellowship and friendship. This class meets every Monday at 9:30 a.m. in room 203 of the AFLC. The next study will be Joshua: Winning the Worry Battle by Barb Roose. This class will resume on August 19, 2019! TUESDAY Tuesday Afternoon Bible Study — This study, open to men and women, meets from

4:00 - 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday in room 202 of the AFLC. The current study is a six-week series by Kyle Idelman entitled, Not a Fan: Becoming A Completely Committed Follower Of Jesus. Contact Saul Pontifes for more information.

THURSDAY LifeLight Bible Study — This class meets weekly on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. in room

203 of the AFLC. The next study is on the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. This class will resume on September 12, 2019!

FRIDAY Men’s Bible Study Group — This class meets at 5:30 a.m. on various Friday

mornings (check the weekly schedule) in the main building kitchen. The current study is called Paul: A Biography by N.T. Wright.

SATURDAY Men's Bible Breakfast — The men of Epiphany meet on the second Saturday of the month in the gym at 7:30 a.m. for Bible Study, breakfast and fellowship.

In-person sign-ups will be available from August 25 - September 15 (or until full) before and after worship services. Schedule your appointment early to get the best date and time for you! Photo portraits will be taken Tuesday September 17 through Saturday, September 21. Each family that is photographed will receive a complimentary 8” x 10” portrait and a free directory from Lifetouch Church Directories. HERE WE STAND PROJECT FILES AVAILABLE — Reference documents from the May Town Hall Meeting are now available for review at the Welcome Centers and on our website at www.ShiningTheLight.org/hws. Check out the conceptual drawings, the congregation questionnaire

results and more to become familiar with the project to improve our facilities and space utilization on campus. The objective of the Here We Stand project is to help Epiphany better "shine the light of God's love on all people". A Special Voters' Meeting will be held on Sunday, August 25 to decide on our design path. HOUSTON LUTHERAN CHORALE — The Houston Lutheran Chorale is seeking new singers to celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ in music and song. No auditions are required. Rehearsals begin Sunday, August 18 and are held two Sunday afternoons each month from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 800 Houston Avenue in Houston. Concerts are scheduled for December 6 at Memorial–Katy, December 7 at Lord of Life–The Woodlands and December 8 at Trinity–Downtown. MEALS ON WHEELS THIS WEEK! — Epiphany members will be delivering meals this week; August 19-23. Please check the bulletin board for the schedule. If you would like to help in this important ministry, contact Lillian Barath at 281-485-3711. NEW LADIES' BIBLE STUDY BEGINS TOMORROW! — The Ladies' Bible Study will resume on Monday, August 19. They will be studying Joshua: Winning the Worry Battle by Barb Roose. In this six-week Bible Study on the Book of Joshua, we will join God’s people as they arrive on the edge of the promised land only to find themselves in hostile territory, faced with fear and uncertainty. As we dig into the story of how Joshua and the Israelites claimed God’s promised victory, we’ll discover that winning the worry battle requires more than having faith; it requires learning to fight in faith! Following their bold, courageous footprints, we’ll learn how to fight in faith as we internalize God’s promises, draw strength from God’s faithfulness, act in obedience to God’s commands, and believe what our limitless God can do. Through in-depth study of how God gave the Israelites victory over their enemies and generously blessed them, too, we’ll be equipped with biblical wisdom, encouragement and practical tools that will enable us to overcome our daily worry struggles as well as the bigger battles of fear that we face. This Bible Study is open to women of all ages; it’s a chance to gather together in fellowship and friendship. This class meets every Monday at 9:30 a.m. in room 203 of the AFLC. MISSIONARIES DESPERATELY WANTED! — You can be a missionary without saying a word when you participate in Bible Marking. We spread the gospel message by marking scripture verses that lead the way to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. The marked Bibles are donated to LINC and other ministries. The Bible Marking group meets the first and the third Monday of every month in room 207 of the AFLC from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. The Bible marking process is very simple so come join us Monday, August 19 and enjoy the fellowship. If you have any questions, please contact Karen Daugherty. TO ALL LADIES OF EPIPHANY! — The monthly meeting of the LWML/Women of Epiphany will be this Saturday, August 24 in room 203 of the AFLC. All women are invited to join us at 9:30 a.m. for brunch and fellowship. A Bible Study and meeting will follow at 10:00 a.m. Come and see how this group, through the study of God’s Word, is reaching out to spread the Good News of Christ to others. Well, this is the committee for you! We need your input on organizing our Tailgate Party which will take place on October 6. INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP CENTER — The International Friendship Center (IFC) is up and running with very successful ESL (English as a Second Language) classes. We have had over 10 students come through our doors and more are joining all the time. We would like to continue to grow this outreach program through the summer. We are in need of volunteers to teach and/or converse with the students on Monday evenings and Tuesday mornings in August. Please contact Tammy Green at ifcepiphany@yahoo.com for details.
