The Blessing of Animals!

Please join us next Sunday at 12:30 pm for the annual service of the Blessing of Animals. This service takes place near the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, and it celebrates the wonderful diversity of God’s creation. Refreshments for two-legged and four-legged animals will be served afterwards. All are welcome.

Please call 416-920-5211 (ext. 22) or email: [email protected] Large print Orders of Service are available from the Sidespeople. Free Sunday parking is available on Sunday mornings (up to 1:30 pm) at the public parking lot, just across from the church on Heath Street. Stamp your parking ticket using the church address stamp found on the table at the Bell tower door. After Church go to the customer service office with your validated ticket where you will be given an exit ticket. Please park only on the lower levels.

the 10 am service.

The Nest (certified childcare for infants to age 4) is open

during the Sunday 10 am service on the third floor.

Sunday Children’s Programs

The Nest is our certified childcare program designed for children under the age of 4. The Nest opens prior to the 10:00 service in our nursery space on the third floor. Tuta Shurdha is our certified Nest coordinator, and she is accompanied by a volunteer parent or teen assistant. If you would like to use this service, please ask one of the sidespeople to direct you to the Nest.

PromiseLand is our church school for children from the ages of 5 to 12. The children meet in the church at 10:00 am, and then move to the St. Nicholas Chapel during the opening hymn. Natalie Kemp is our Director of Children’s Education, and would be happy to tell you more about Promiseland.

YAL – Young Anglican Leaders meet regularly for learning, fellowship, food and fun. Please speak with Natalie Kemp for more details.

WELCOME! Welcome to Christ Church Deer Park! Whether you are here as a family member or friend of one of the young people confirming their faith, or whether you are here because someone invited you for “Back to Church Sunday”, or whether you just happened to wander in, we are delighted to have you here! A special welcome to our Area Bishop, the Right Reverend Patrick Yu, who is also with us today.

Re-Imagining Church: Shaped for Mission – this 5-week course will be offered in Elliott Hall on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00 pm beginning October 15th. The course will be taught by our Area Bishop, the Right Reverend Patrick Yu, and the Reverend Susan Bell, the Archbishop’s Officer for Mission. The content of the course compliments the work that we have been doing as a parish to re-imagine our church in a changing culture. Please consider attending these 5 evenings. CHRISTMAS FAIR MEETING - TODAY at 12:00 noon, there will be a

meeting in the Arthur Smith Room for all those who have been involved in the Christmas Fair in the past. This meeting is to help identify and coordinate the leadership for this year’s Christmas Fair, which takes place on November 30th. This is a very important event in the life of our parish, so please plan to attend. The meeting will be chaired by the Reverend Julie Meakin.

Confirmation! 8 young people from our parish are confirming

their faith at the 10:00 am service today. They are Isaac Baker,

Sidney Callaghan, Claire Colquhoun, Francesca Devine,

Megan Fanjoy, Nicholas Jackson, Jeremy Jopling, and Alec

van Nostrand. Congratulations and blessings!

“Joy In a Paintbox” - paintings by Sally Martin. We invite you to view this Exhibition until October 20 in the Arthur Smith Room. The artist is available to answer any questions about her work.

Fall Rummage Sale – Saturday, October 5 10 am – 1 pm In preparation for the Fall Rummage Sale next Saturday, we

welcome your Fall/Winter clothing items, as well as china, art, glassware, jewellery and household items. We are no longer accepting books.

An Introduction to Christian Meditation will take place on Monday, September 30th at 11:15 am in the Arthur Smith Room. Please see the Reverend Julie Meakin for details.

If you would like to contribute fruits and vegetables for the decoration of the church, please bring them to the sacristy by Friday, October 11th.
