The vision of the Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson United School Corporation is that of a dynamic organization that will work in partnership with families and community to maintain and provide adequate resources for a safe, disciplined, and productive environment. Highly competent and committed adults are meaningfully engaged in learning opportunities

NHJ Vision

p g y p g y g g g ppwith all students. Our curriculum design and instructional practices will provide the knowledge, attitudes, skills, and habits for all students to become responsible citizens in American society, life-long learners, and successful participants in a global and technological society.

The Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson United School Corporation is located in south central Indiana, 35 miles south of Indianapolis. With parts of the district in both Morgan and Johnson counties, it is one of only a few school districts in Indiana that exist across county lines. NHJ covers 108 square miles and consists of three townships: Nineveh and Hensley in Johnson County, and Jackson in Morgan County. Morgantown, Trafalgar and Nineveh are the primary

Community

y y, g y g , g p ytowns that exist in the three townships. According to the most recent census, the population of the area served by the NHJ is: Nineveh Township – 3,987; Hensley Township – 3,329; Jackson Township – 3,439. Our corporation is predominately rural, with equal amounts of hilly, wooded terrain and flat fertile farmland. The majority of the population is involved in commuting to the surrounding cities for their employment. The Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson United School Corporation is the largest employer within the three townships. Our region is experiencing moderate growth, as people from the Indianapolis area build homes and relocate further south.

While the Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson United School District bears the names of the three townships that form its political boundaries, all of the four schools in the district contain the name of the Indian Creek watershed that runs through it. All four of the schools are located in the town of Trafalgar and have a combined enrollment that has averaged 1,850 students over the last few years. Indian Creek Elementary School is located in the center of Trafalgar

2004. The schools offer a quality instructional program for all students. In addition, the Indian Creek Learning Center (ICLC) was completed in the summer of 2013 offering an alternative learning environment for secondary students and college opportunities for both students and community members through a partnership with Ivy Tech Colleges. We continue to place a strong emphasis on collecting and analyzing data, insuring that all students are given the individual instruction necessary to succeed. We offer a sense of strong competition in many academic and athletic extra curricular activities.
