  • Announcement from The Head Teacher As a new infinitive to give more power to the students of this school I have created a new position in the school: STUDENT PRESIDENT The Student President will have the power to make suggestions regarding the way the school is run including the structure of the school day, extra curricular activities that are offered, meals, etc. They will NOT have any power over the curriculum, staffing or costs. Anyone can stand for election by the students, however they must have a Manifesto, A campaign poster and compete in the candidate debate. Good Luck and may the best candidate win!

  • What do you actually have to do? 1.Form a party and choose a candidate to stand for election. 2.Write a manifesto telling the electorate what it is you plan to do if you are elected school president. 3.Create a campaign poster to advertise your party and your pledges. 4.Prepare for the inter-party debate where your will have to answer questions about your pledges from the electorate.

  • Timeline Lesson 1: Introduction and party formation. Lesson 2 & 3: Preparing your Campaign. Lesson 4: Debate and Election! Your Teacher will be acting as an Election Consultant and you can book a 10 minute appointment with her in Lessons 1- 3.
