Our Honourable Founder Chairman Late Col. Dr. Jeppiaar M.A., B.L., Ph.D. is a man of
success and a wide-angled ideology. He is a leading educationist, industrialist, who has left
an indelible mark in the field of politics under ex-Chief Minister Dr. M.G. Ramachandran´s
leadership. He is well known among academicians as a dedicated educationalist and eminent
philanthropist.
He is noted for thinking ahead of times and for his progressive plans that are a unique
combination of vision, effective management and recognized for the spirit of promoting
technical education. He has dedicated himself completely for fostering technical education
and to spread knowledge amongst the youth of India. He has started Jeppiaar Institute of
Technology in the year 2011 to promote technical education.

1. VISION
Jeppiaar Institute of Technology aspires to provide technical education in futuristic technologies
with the perspective of innovative, industrial and social application for the betterment of
humanity.

2. ABOUT THE COLLEGE
Jeppiaar Institute of Technology was established in 2011, to provide futuristic technical
education with the perspective of innovative social and industrial application for the betterment
of humanity.
Since the launch, Jeppiaar Institute of Technology propels relentlessly towards fulfilling its
vision. Jeppiaar Institute of Technology is the first institution in India to establish a laboratory
with the incorporation of „Innovative Cloud Computing Technology‟. All the classrooms are
CAI (Computer Aided Instruction) enabled with wall mount Multimedia LCD Projectors, to
make full use of the modern teaching aids. Presently, the college offers five popular professional
under-graduate engineering programs namely B.E. Computer Science and Engineering, B.E.
Electronics and Communication Engineering, B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering,
B.Tech Information Technology and B.E. Mechanical Engineering.
Computer Society of India (CSI), one of the professional societies in our college shares
knowledge and exchange the ideas in the ever progressive world of technology. ASME, SAE ,
IETE and the Big-Data Research Center of the college support the career needs of the students.
The IEEE students‟ chapter and IEEE Women in engineering on the campus are vibrant in
connecting to breakthrough technical information and put them in an open platform for regular
updates. Students‟ passion for robotics is commendable. National Cadet Corps (NCC), National
Service Scheme (NSS) and Youth Red Cross (YRC) are also offered for the holistic development
of the students.
Our college offers value-added courses like Interactive web designing and Progressive JAVA,
Robotics Progress Automation, Advanced Python and Introduction to Machine Learning, Drone,
3D printing, Arduino based embedded system & Robotics, Robotics & its Applications, Design
Thinking Club.
In the field of sports and games, the college ranks among the top ten in the state. The college
organizes Jeppiaar Trophy, a national level basketball tournament every year in which all the

potential basketball teams in the country take part. The standard of the tournament is obvious and
it is recognized by Doordarshan with its live telecast.
About 90.21% of students of the 2011, 2012, 2013,2015 batch have been placed through campus
recruitment process in the reputed Multi-National Companies like WIPRO, INFOSYS, CTS,
AMAZON, SOLARITIES, SOFTURA, DATA PATTERNS, INFO VIEW, MIND TREE, AND
EMPHASIS, ONE GLOBE, ZOHO, SUPER AUTO FORGE, NTT DATA, etc., which are the
premier recruiting partners of the institution. Also, the remaining students are equally motivated
to pursue their higher education and becoming an entrepreneur.
We have created and clocked with 206* Companies opportunities from all verticals (Service
based, Product Based & Core Industry) for our 2015-19 batch Students and 181+*(Still in
progress) Companies for 2016-20 batch till date.
Currently 91.3 % (Still in progress) of our final year students 2016 – 20 batch have got placed in
different MNC‟s such as L&T INFOTECH , FRESHWORKS, HYUNDAI POLYTECH,
FOURKITES, ZOHO , AMAZON, WIPRO, BYJUS, JARO EDUCATION, CTS, TCS,IBM,
INFOSYS ,DATA PATTERNS, FULL CREATIVE, SOPRA STERIA, MPHASIS, TVS
SUNDHARAM FASTENERS, CODING MART,COVIAM TECHNOLOGIES, BRAKES
INDIA etc. and many more companies are to visit to us throughout this year for achieving
placements to all the eligible students.
To make the students involved in industrial relationship and development, our college has

Partner , FACE for Training Partner and for students higher education in abroad, the institution
has signed MOU with Life Abroad Consulting Service (p) Ltd, Singapore to link more than 40
universities in abroad. Every year, the academic toppers will get the fully funded scholarship for
International Immersion Programme.
Another creative embodiment is the „Design Thinking Club‟ which nurtures the culture of design
thinking in all aspects of life focusing on preparing the design mind in association with the
School of Design Thinking, Intellect.
Quality Policy:
To provide overall direction of its performance, the Management of JIT headed by the Director,
have established a quality policy that shall reflect the work attitude and values of every employee
and member at the workplace, that is quality of operations and processes is everybody‟s
responsibility. The overall direction of JIT with respect to its quality performance shall be
aligned and maintained consistent with the quality policy and described as “To pursue global
standards of excellence in all our endeavours in teaching, infrastructure, resources,
research and continuing education through continual improvement process and
effectiveness of the quality management system”.
JEPPIAAR REMIBAI EDUCATIONAL TRUST
Objectives:
i. To establish, maintain, acquire, run, improve and develop educational institutions like
Schools, Colleges, Poly Techniques, Medical, Dental, Engineering colleges, Business
Schools, Management and Computer Education Private Universities declared under
Section 3 of the U.G.C. Act including hostels and also any other institutions without any
motive of profit.
ii. To seek and get affiliation of the various institutions run by the trust and private
universities to be formed in due course under Section 3 of the U.G.C. act to be formed in
the due course to various universities of different disciplines.

iii. To seek and get approvals from the Government bodies such as AICTE,MEDICAL
COUNCIL, Dental Council, U.G.C., NCTE and Affiliation from the respective OTHER
STATUTORY Universities affiliating technical courses as well as general academic
courses and any other authorities at present in existence or to be established by the State
Union Government from time to time.
iv. To award Scholarship, prizes, etc., for the poor and deserving meritorious students.
v. To establish, maintain, run, improve and develop libraries, reading rooms and other
facilities for the benefit of the students.
vi. To publish books, periodicals and other works without any motive for profit relating to
Educational activities.
vii. To give donation and to takeover maintain, run and improve the educational institution/
institutions having similar objects.
viii. To accept donations, gifts, presents, aid, grants in cash or kind and movable or
immovable properties from the public, State Union Governments either as corpus or as in
cash according to the directions of the donors for the purpose of carrying out the objects
of the trust.
ix. To do all such lawful acts that may be necessary or incidental and conducive to the
attainment of the above objects or any one of them.
x. To undertakes such other activities as may be necessary for the promotion of the
objectives of the trust.
xi. To give assistance to senior citizens/ poor, deserving needy people by way of cash or
kind.

4. RULES, REGULATIONS AND PRACTICES
1. Students must maintain discipline in the college campus as well as in the hostel.
2. All the Students should be regular and punctual to classes. The working time of the
college is from 8:00 am to 2:45 pm.
3. All the students should travel only by the college bus to the college. They are not allowed
to commute in two wheelers.
4. Strict silence should be maintained inside the Lecture hall/Drawing hall/ Seminar
hall/Laboratory/ Workshop/Library.
5. Use of Mobile phones inside the classroom, laboratory, seminar halls, library, and
workshop or during formal meeting is strictly prohibited.
6. Students should not celebrate any function by themselves like Friends day, Birthday etc.,
within the college campus. Possession and use of crackers, on any occasion either inside the
campus or areas leading to the campus is strictly prohibited. Students found to have caused
any damage to the assets of the college (equipment or furniture or any other infrastructure)
will be punished, besides being penalized for the cost of the damages. Possession of lethal
weapons is strictly banned and is punishable.
7. Students are expected to cultivate the habits of maintaining a clean and green campus.
8. Eating and chewing inside the classrooms is strictly prohibited. Students are not allowed to go to
the mess/ Engineer‟s cafe during class hours.
9. Students are advised to contact class counsellor/ Co-ordinator, HOD, or the Principal in case
they need any special requirement.
10. Students should wear their identity card inside the campus and in the College Bus.
11. Students should travel only by the bus route allotted to them based on their residential
address.
12. The instructions given by the Bus in-charge, faculty and staff members traveling in the
college bus, should be strictly followed.
13. Dress Code: All the students are expected to follow a modest dress code

Formal shirts and pants on Mondays to Fridays
Shirts are to be neatly tucked in
Casual shirts and Jeans are allowed on Saturdays (Ankle length pant and low waist
pants are strictly prohibited)
Well-polished shoes and socks are mandatory on all days
Beards are to be neatly shaved and nails are to be trimmed frequently
Long hairstyle is not allowed
GIRLS
Salwar kameez with neatly pinned dupatta on Mondays to Fridays
Kurta/Kurti with jeans are allowed on Saturdays
Short and tight-fitting tops and Leggings are not allowed
Girls are asked to braid their hair neatly
Shoes are compulsory for laboratory Classes
14. Every student is expected to attend all the classes regularly and secure 100% attendance.
However, in order to give provision for certain unavoidable reasons such as medical /
participation in sports, the student is expected to attend a minimum of 75% of the classes for
every course of the semester with relevant documents to support their absence.
15. Parents would be informed through SMS/ Phone call in case their ward is absent on any
day.
16. Students should attend all the tests with good preparation and ensure good academic
progress.
17. Students should actively participate in the co-curricular and Extra-curricular activities
to accomplish holistic development.
18. All the students are expected to contribute towards the research work and innovations.
19. Students are encouraged to enroll themselves in Professional Society and other value-
added courses.
20. Students should give importance to Internship Program and placement related
activities.

5. RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR HOSTEL INMATES
1. Students should be neatly dressed in formal wear, shoes and ID card while leaving to
college from hostel.
2. Students should leave the hostel before 7:30 am to the college on all working days.
Students are not permitted to stay in the hostel during college hours.
3. While leaving the hostel rooms, students should ensure that all the lights and fans are
switched off and the water tap is closed. All the students should lock their room when
they are leaving their room.
4. Students should keep their rooms neat and tidy. They are not permitted to paste anything
on the doors or the walls.
5. Only two permissions are allowed in a month which can be availed for the purpose of
going to native place, local guardian‟s house and medical reasons.
6. The students should avail permission in advance by fax, mail, or CMS through parents.
Permission will not be granted on the same day.
7. In case of any family function, leave should be availed at least five days in advance.
Parents should come in person to avail leave for more than two days.
8. Outing is allowed from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm only. Students who avail outing should reach
the college campus before 6:00 pm or the next day morning 6:00-8:00 am. No other
timing is allowed. Late comers will be deprived of the next outing.
9. Only parents and the local guardian will be allowed to visit their ward after the college
hours. If the parents visit the campus during the college working hours, they must report
to the office first and will be permitted to meet their ward in the reception office.
10. Phone calls other than from parents and local guardians are not encouraged.
11. Students should stay inside their rooms on all days except Saturdays and Sundays. Doors
and windows must be kept opened throughout the study hours.
12. Students should remain in their respective room and maintain silence from 9:00 pm to
6:00 am. They should avoid running and playing around the corridors and staircase.
13. Students must switch off the lights by 11:00 pm in the rooms. Those who are interested to
study further may occupy the corridors and study halls.
14. Possessing gold/ diamond or any precious jewels and money in the form of cash by the

student in the room is prohibited. Management is not responsible for the loss of any
valuables.
15. Students should record the electrical fault, blocking of pipes or any other malfunctioning
in the room in the logbook available in the hostel office. Action for repair will be taken
on the receipt of the report.
16. Students are not permitted to possess any electrical and electronics items like heater and
Iron box etc, in their rooms.
17. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in the college campus. However, to upgrade
knowledge using technology for academic and Placement activities, students can use
mobile phones in the hostel with the permission of the warden during the prescribed time.
18. Mobile phones must be used only in the respective rooms of the students and should not
carry it while going to mess hall, playground, corridor, TV hall and college.
19. Plug point should be properly used and should not be used to charge any appliance while
not in room. Multiple pin junction box is strictly prohibited. If violated plug point will be
removed from the room without any notification.
20. Students should strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the hostel and maintain
discipline. Violations are not allowed.

12.1 COMPUTER CENTRES AND INTERNET FACILITIES
Fully furnished Computer Labs are available in all the departments. These labs cater to the
computing needs of the students & faculty. There are totally 435 Terminals, i3 processor with the
latest configuration and UPS backup service:

All Terminals are networked to provide cross platform application with Client Server architecture.
All buildings of the College have been linked up and connectivity has been established through
Fiber-Optic cables. In addition to the provision of regular course work in C, C++, JAVA,
ORACLE, VB, VC++, Rational Rose, and FOSS Lab there is provision for Multimedia based
English learning software in an exclusive Language Laboratory. Academic/ Administrative
Software have also been installed to facilitate effective coordination among departments and
operations.

College has 155 Mbps internet connectivity through BSNL leased line.
This caters to:

REGULATIONS FOR USE OF LIBRARY
● One should realize the power of silence in the Library and make it an abode for academic
pursuit and dissemination of knowledge.
● Members should produce their Identity Card at the entrance / while borrowing books/ and
whenever so demanded by security personnel / faculty.
● Members should sign in the Gate Register / Scan Id card in the computer kept at the
Entrance.
● On no account personal books, files, lab coats/apron, and articles will be allowed inside.
(Such items are to be handed over to the security in charge in the personal bag section at the
Entrance)

becomes eligible for the issue of Hall Ticket.

Books (other than Ref. Books) -15 days
Reference Books: Available for reading only within the Library.
● Tearing of sheets from books & newspapers is prohibited and is a punishable offence.
● Members must satisfy themselves whether the books are in good condition, before they
leave the counter. If any damage is noticed the same must be immediately reported;
otherwise members concerned will be held responsible.
● Fine will be levied for late return of books:
₹2 per day per book.
● Loss or Missing of Books should be reported to the Librarian immediately and should be
replaced by another new copy.

enhancement of their subject knowledge. Books will not be issued to anyone, but are available only
for reference within the department library. HOD controls the functioning of the department library.

Objectives:
To train the students to meet the expectations of the industry through our Career
Development Program.
To provide exposure to the students about the happenings with various Industries through
our Institute- Industry Collaboration. This is to make them understand the dynamic
industrial environment and to keep them updated technically.
To provide excellent placement support to our students by inviting eminent recruiters to our
University to recruit them through our Campus Recruitment Program.
Jeppiaar Institute of Technology has an independent Training and Placement cell devoted to cater to
the needs of organization in conducting ON/Pool Campus Recruitment processes, providing Career
Guidance for students, conducting effective Training programmes and employability bridging
courses from 1st year to Final year students. This commitment is demonstrated by the existence of a
full-time Management and Placement Officer. The benefits of this assistance are reflected in the
preparation of Students who are able to secure lucrative and esteemed position in recent years.
Training and placement cell develops strong corporate relations with major IT and Core industries
and establishes good rapports with CEOs and HR Managers. The Training and Placement Division
ensures smooth organization of various events related to ON–Campus placement events, OFF-
Campus events conducted at our college by CUIC, Anna University and many Pool-Campus
recruitments at our college. Placement officer takes care to provide best possible arrangements with
regard to infrastructure, smart lecture halls, Pre-placement Presentations, and hospitality for visiting
corporate personnel.
The Training and placement cell identifies the training needs of the students and imparts training
through reputed training institutes. Online coding platforms like TechGig, Hacker rank, coding bat
were introduced to students‟ community to ensure the effective Self Practicing Tool to make them
industry ready professionals for product and service based Industries. The Placement cell Strives
hard to towards the students community improve their communication Skills and Presentation
Skills.
The training & Placement service operates year round to facilitate contacts between companies &
Graduates. Staff members are available to respond to student‟s questions and concerns of all kinds.

career guidance at the Training & Placement Cell. All counselling is based on up to-date placement

The institution plays a major role towards placing student‟s different Universities and higher
Education bringing about an advancement to research and development. The institution started the
Advisory Bureau for Higher Studies in the year 2013 and from the batch of 2011 -2015 and 2012-
2016. The Advisory Board of Higher Education conducts various Awareness Programme, Career
Guidance for Students with regard to GATE, CAT, Competitive Examination and Counselling
Programme for students with regard to Foreign Universities and Indian Universities. The

13. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS CELL
Intellectual property plays an important role in providing a competitive edge to any institution. The
tangible assets like inventions, designs, software, brand name and other creative & innovative ideas
are more valuable than physical assets. On this motto Jeppiaar institute of technology established
Intellectual Property Rights Cell on 29-04-2015.
Intellectual Property Rights Cell is committed to encourage, protect, manage and commercialize
Intellectual Properties such as Patent, Copyright, Trademark etc. generated through the College.
The cell creates conducive environment in the academics for the development of Intellectual
Property. Faculty and students of Jeppiaar Institute of Technology are actively participating in the
IPR filing process in different disciplines of Engineering & Technology.

14. ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL
Major objectives:
To conduct orientation programs for students and the public to attract them into establishing
their own enterprises.
To organize training programs on establishing and managing industrial units.
To organize programs for women for acquiring special skills So that they can earn while at
home.
To organize workshops participating in successful entrepreneurs.
To provide assistance to entrepreneurs in getting bank loans, selection of staff and workers
and dealing with day to day problems in their business.
Entrepreneurs play a vital role in the economic development of any region or country. An
entrepreneur is a person who organizes, manages and takes the risk of running an enterprise. All
industrially developed countries such as USA, Japan, and Germany, etc. show that their
development is an effect of entrepreneurship. India has very ambitious growth targets for the future.
We got opened up two decades back and enjoy a favourable demographic dividend from its young
population. It has emerged as a strong economic force with the second largest growth rate after
China. All these happened due to the entrepreneurs of this country. It is strongly felt that we want
millions of entrepreneurs for the country and all of us in JIT to believe that we should do whatever
possible to develop entrepreneurship

The main objective of this cell is to train and motivate the Science and Technology (S&T) persons

Keeping in view the need for maintaining the momentum of quality, the Internal Quality Assurance
Cell (IQAC) is functioning in the Institution.
Goals:
To develop a quality system for conscious, consistent and catalytic programmed action to
improve the academic and administrative performance of the college.
To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through
internationalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

To determine quality excellence in the academic process and pre-accreditation exercise for quality
assurance by Internal Quality Assurance Cell was established in the year 2019. IQAC monitors the
progress in teaching – learning and aims to achieve the Vision and Mission of the College.

16. CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
For the Co-curricular activities such as National Cadet Corps (NCC)/ National Service
Scheme (NSS) / NSO / YRC, a satisfactory / not satisfactory grading will appear in the mark sheet.
Every student shall put in a minimum of 75% attendance in the training and attend the camp
compulsorily. The training and camp shall be completed during the first year of the programme. A
satisfactory grade in the above co-curricular activities is compulsory for the award of degree.

Management Scholarships:
The unique feature of Jeppiaar Institute of Technology is the scholarships awarded to students.
Jeppiaar Institute of Technology offers attractive scholarships to encourage merit and to make
education accessible to students of all economic class.
Scholarships worth Rs 60 Lakhs were recently distributed to 100 students of Jeppiaar Institute of
Technology, based on the academic performance, sports achievement and economic needs.
The scholarship scheme was instituted in 2011. Since its inception around Rs.2.0 Crore worth of
scholarships have been disbursed to around 250 deserving students, many from extremely
challenged backgrounds.
Jeppiaar Institute of Technology aims at in inducting and transforming meritorious rural students

First year students of Jeppiaar Institute who secure the highest marks in the Plus Two
