Ankle sprains vary in their severity, from mild "twisted ankle" or "rolled ankle" sprain through to severe sprains. Pain relief is simple and fast in the majority of cases with your sanakey. Common types of ankle sprains include: Inversion Ankle Sprains. This is the most common type of ankle sprain occurs when the foot is inverted, twisting inwards. When this type of ankle sprain happens, the outer, or lateral, ligaments are stretched too far. About 90% of ankle sprains are inversion injuries. Pain is always on the outside of the ankle. Eversion Ankle Sprains. The other type of sprained ankle is called an eversion injury, where the foot is twisted outwards. When this occurs, the inner ligament is stretched too far. Pain will be on the inner side of the ankle joint. Your treatment is guided by the area of pain and associated symptoms of pain and limitation of movement “here and now”. You can treat up to 3 times daily until the injury improves. A sprained ankle occurs when your ankle ligaments are overstretched. Ankle sprains vary in their severity, from mild "twisted ankle" or "rolled ankle" sprain through to severe sprains. Pain relief is simple and fast in the majority of cases with your sanakey. Common types of ankle sprains include: • Inversion Ankle Sprains. This is the most common type of ankle sprain occurs when

the foot is inverted, twisting inwards. When this type of ankle sprain happens, the outer, or lateral, ligaments are stretched too far. About 90% of ankle sprains are inversion injuries. Pain is always on the outside of the ankle.

• Eversion Ankle Sprains. The other type of sprained ankle is called an eversion injury, where the foot is twisted outwards. When this occurs, the inner ligament is stretched too far. Pain will be on the inner side of the ankle joint.

• Your treatment is guided by the area of pain and associated symptoms of pain and limitation of movement “here and now”.

• You can treat up to 3 times daily until the injury improves.

step 3 Assess your treatment by performing ankle movements. Turning your ankle left and right,up and down etc.

Treat any points of pain caused by the above movements by changing the settings of your sanakey and treating further.

Treatment tip: finish the treatment by applying your favourite pain relief cream/gel using the key-phoresis setting, KP Acid

step 1

SCAN for keypoints

Slowly scan the ankle area related to the painful complaint /dysfunction.

Note that the scan area is larger than the area of complaint.

It is important to scan an area large enough to identify keypoints.

step 2 Target keypoints. Typically you’ll find multiple keypoints.

Focus your treatment on keypoints that show the greatest response (stickiness, colour, impulse sensation).

You can target keypoints by either holding the device stationary or moving the device around the area, looking for areas of stickiness etc.
