Assignment Scenario

You are working for a small but ambitious animation production company who has been commissioned to produce a short 30 second stop motion animation title sequence for a prime time children’s TV show – Legoville! You should only use the stop motion technique.

Although the title and content of the kids TV show you are creating an animated title sequence for can be completely fictional, the only stipulation made by the client is that the animation itself should be made from Lego.

The client has also suggested that you use appropriate sound design and special effects where appropriate Animation will be developed through the animation programme Stop-motion Pro. Sound effects and SFX will be achieved within Sony Vegas...

In order to complete you production work to a professional standard, you will need to have developed your knowledge of stop motion animation techniques and the history and pioneers of this animation technique. You will need to gather information that will help you develop your own ideas for your short stop motion introduction.

Evidence:Your Research Log should consist of both Primary and Secondary research. Primary research should be analysed using both qualitative and quantative methods. You could use a variety of different sources from newspapers to websites, but references should reflect the history of stop-motion animators. See Research log help sheet for further details.

After providing the audience with questionnaires and feedback forms collate this information into an Audience Response PowerPoint.
