During the last two decades, various animal advocate organizations, expressed their concerns regarding exploitation and abuse of animals. The aim of the mentioned organizations was to develop an ideology that animals possess rights and should be respected by humans whether they are used for food or scientific research. It could be argued that, while human gain the stewardship amongst all animals existing in this planet, it is an individual’s responsibility to preserve and protect the rights of the animals. This essay will discuss the views regarding animal exploitation by different countries and organizations that upholds the rights of the animals. Different countries across the world had utilized animals for scientific investigations, medical trials and unacceptable festivities. Firstly, the United States of America, known for its advance technology in all realms of science, had utilized animals such as rats and rabbits for clinical trials regarding dermatological disorders. Although the experimentation would benefit mankind in the future, using live animals is unreasonable. Utilizing these small creatures will affect the population of the rodents, hence providing disequilibrium in the food chain. Furthermore, a festivity in Denmark, specifically in Faroe Islands, had annual ceremony of killing a mass number of whales along the shoreline. While different nations denounce the activity, the local government considered it as a legal activity. While there are still individuals or countries involve in this horrific activities, there are organizations and groups that protect and support animal preservation across the globe. To begin with, the World Wide Fund for Nature, a non-governmental organization, advocates the biodiversity conservation of endangered animals. Next, there is a group called Peoples Animal Welfare Society, advocates for animals through the operation of a companion shelter, a wildlife center and an advocacy department.
