A well-respected Oncologist from the U.S., Anil Potti graduated from the Christian Medical College & Hospital, Vellore (India), with Bachelor’s degree in Medicine & Surgery. In 1996, he moved to the United States to receive his Residency training in Internal Medicine from the University Of North Dakota School Of Medicine, Fargo, North Dakota.
Initially, he wanted to be a general medical physician, but a personal experience prompted him into the field of oncology. He is a very caring, intelligent and self-motivated individual, and has been part of several research programs related to lung cancer.
Some of his selected publications are A Genomic Strategy to Refine Prognosis and Therapeutic Decision for Adjuvant Therapy in Non-Small Cell Lung Carcinoma; Mining gene expression profiles- expression signatures as cancer phenotypes; Gene Expression Signatures, Clinicopathological features, and individualized therapy in breast cancer.
A genomic approach to colon cancer risk stratification yields biologic insights into therapeutic opportunities; and Gene expression profiles of tumor biology provide a novel approach to prognosis and may guide the selection of therapeutic targets in multiple myeloma.
According to Anil Potti, an important step towards the success of cancer therapy is the development of new methods for matching existing and new drugs with characteristics of individual patients.
