Mga Dulang Pang-Classroom ng Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang’’ by Christine Bellen is a collection of 12 Lola Basyang stories, rewritten for children’s theater. The scripts in the collection include favorites such as “Ang Mahiwagang Biyulin,” “Ang Parusa ng Duwende,” and “Rosamistica,” among others. The 12 stories have been previously published as colorful picture books for children ages five and above. The Lola Basyang stories gained popularity in the 1920s and are highly regarded as masterpieces of Filipino children’s literature. Written by Severino Reyes, the stories were produced as radio drama and as literary pieces in weekly magazines. Christine Bellen is an assistant professor in the Filipino Department of Ateneo de Manila University. She is the director of Ateneo Institute of Literary Arts and Practices (AILAP). She is a writer, a researcher, and is considered as the leading authority on Lola Basyang in the Philippines.
