9 Discuss the
demerits of
Anecdotal Record
2 min They tend to be less reliable than other
observational tool as they tend to be less
formal and systematic.
They are time consuming to write.
It is difficult for the observe to maintain
objectivity when she/he record the incident

meaning.
The observer tend to record only
undesirable incident and neglect the
positive incident.

while using
Anecdotal Record.
2 Limit observation of these qualities.
Record enough of the situation to decrease
subjectivity.
A single specific incident has to be recorded
(Positive + Negative aspect) and consider
both in making inferences.

14 The condition that
used in Sociometric
3min The length of time the group has been together
:
The longer the group has existed the more
likely it is the data collected will be meaningful.
The age level of the group : In this order
participants provide more reliable information.
J.L. Moreno the founder of Modern Sociometry,
hypothesized that social cohesion develop with
age like children up to 6-7 age has poor
cohesion, 7-14 year children has a high
understanding & cohesion. group formed by
youth between the age of 14 and 18 year to
has become stabilized.
The size of the group : Group that are too
large or too small will provide less valid
information all member of the group must be
include in any Sociometric studies. The group
chosen for study should be appropriate to the
informational need of the counselor .

preference, with who you would like to study.
The result are tabulated in a sociogram and a
graphic picture of the sociogram is prepared.
From the sociogram we can identify the
students.
1) Who are most popular.
2) Those who receive no choice (Isolate)
3) Who receive only a single choice
(Neglecter's)

discriminatory power.
20 Explain the method
of Likert Scale
4 min Method : The research gather large number of
statement which clearly indicate favourable or
unfavourable attitude toward the issue in
question.
By adding up different score of an
individual his total score is calculated.
The response will imply various score.
The score are consistently arranged
either from the highest to the lowest or
from the lowest to the highest.
For Example :
The Employment self Esteem Scale :
The use to estimate the level of self-esteem a
person has on job, how strongly you agree or

intermediate point are absent in this
scale.
Likert type scale has a broader area of
reference and has also a method of
checking internal consistency.
22 Limitation in Likert
type scale
2 The judgment on the bans of total score,
which is calculating the mean or
median, is not scientific.
It help to ordering the people but such
an ordering will not have any objective
basis.

24 Introduction of
critical incident
2 minCritical incident report
Introductin: To evaluate performance of the
student, the evaluator record specific incident
of

Completion of an assignment, maintain a
quality in nursing care of patient.
Ineffective behavior (Negative) Eg: Lead a poor
nursing care, fail to provide patient benefit.
