Getting Started

Install the VMware Horizon Client Software on:

Android Mobile device

You will need

Capital Power Username and Password

Entrust security code (soft token or grid card)

Play Store account

Download and Install VMware Horizon Client

I. In your browser, type: launch.capitalpower.com

II. Click Download VMware Horizon Client Software

III. The system will detect the version of the VMware Horizon Client software to download

based on your device.

Click the Download icon:

1. Once installation begins, Open with Play Store

2. From the Play Store, VMware Horizon Client, tap Install

3. Tap Accept, close application

4. To access Launch from your browser type launch.capitalpower.com

AFTER you have installed VMware Horizon Client:

Log In to Launch 1. In your browser, type: launch.capitalpower.com

2. Enter your:

Capital Power Username and Password

Entrust security code

If you do not have an Entrust security code, contact the Service Desk

3. Once logged in, you will be directed to your own Launch Homepage which contains all of the

applications that you have access to.

If you do not see the application that you need on your Homepage or in the App Center,

contact the Service Desk.

Open and Close an Application

Option 1: To start an application, tap on the application icon and hold for 2 seconds, tap Launch,

a menu will appear, tap Launch

Option 2: To start an application, tap twice on the application icon. The application will load and

open.

If you have not downloaded the VMware Horizon Client, the message below will display.

Click on Install the Horizon Client and follow the download instructions.

or

If you have downloaded the VMware Horizon Client Software and you see this message

when opening an application, click Open Horizon Client to open the application.

1. Your application will launch and load

Tap the gesture to use the application

2. When you are finished, tap X to close

the application

3. You can work in another application by

tapping it. When you are finished, tap

the X to close the application (see 2)

4. To log out: Option A: Return to your browser to CP Launch homepage and Sign out of Launch

Gestures

When you open an application on an Android device, the gesture icon will appear, tap it and

menu buttons will appear. When using an application you will need to select the ‘tool’ you would

like to use from the menu. For example, to type, select the keyboard.

Gesture Help – displays a number of pictures explaining how you can use touch gestures to control the client. You will see instructions and a tutorial every time you connect if ‘Gesture Help’ is turned on. You can turn off ‘Gesture Help’ under ‘Settings’

Settings – displays a list of settings to adjust such as resolution, presentation mode, keyboard and touchpad

Taskbar – opens and closes the taskbar

Disconnect – disconnects from the current application you have open

Functions – displays a keypad with arrow keys and ‘page up’ and ‘page down’ buttons to move around the screen. It also displays a ‘home button

Keyboard – allows typing as if you were using a standard keyboard

Touchpad – allows scrolling as if you were using a touchpad on your laptop computer

Open/Close – opens and closes the gesture menu

Find an Application Category 1. Tap the menu button

2. Select a category from the

drop down menu: e.g. Office

3. Select an application from

the category

Search

You can also search for an application by typing the title into the Search field. The application will

appear if you have been granted access.

Customize Your Launch Homepage 1. To remove an application from your Launch Homepage, tap on the appropriate icon and hold

for 2 seconds, a menu will appear, select the trashcan icon or click Remove. The application

will be moved to the App Center.

2. To add an application back to your Launch Homepage:

a) click on the ‘+’ button to

access the App Center

b) click Add App

3. You can move application icons around your homepage, tap on the appropriate icon, hold for 2

seconds, a menu will appear, select move to top or move to bottom

Create Your Launch Favorites Page

1. Create a Favorites Page with the applications that you use most frequently. To add a favorite,

tap on the appropriate icon and hold for 2 seconds, a menu will appear, select the star icon or

Make Favorite.

You will need to set favorites on each device

2. To access your Favorites page:

a) Tap the Menu button from the

Launch Homepage

b) Tap Favorites

3. To remove an application you have selected as a favorite,

click on the star icon

Sign Out of Launch

1. Click the menu icon on the Launch Homepage

2. Tap Settings 3. Tap Sign Out and close your internet browser
